Pandora Bracelet

I find that:

For women under 25, they are the bomb.

For women over 25, Tiffany's..........

Be grateful if wants Pandora, wait until she wants a Tiffany bracket.

See, what you do is get a heavy-duty chain (think bike security), get it chrome plated, then attach a lot of NAS to it.

Jingle jangle jewellery.

This seems to be very much a case of the psychologists fallacy. Affordable, aspirational and unobtainable are going to be different depending upon your own circumstances.

To an individual maybe, but to the consumer market perception of something then I would maintain what I have said. Pandora is aimed firmly at the mainstream branded mass consumer market, it is affordable and accessible to most people.

And I was saying that it wasn't you that had that opinion but dowie.

I wasn't saying that you said I did, only that some people (atpbx) seem to making the assumption that I shared that opinion or at least held one similar.

Quite funny how people on here are refusing to buy their wife/girlfriend the 'cheap tat' Pandora jewellry that she has asked for because it's a fad (although I think it has been around for years and years, I knew about it over 10 years ago I'm sure) but try to justify buying a SSD Hdd or Ivybridge processor which will be out of date and need replacing way before said women is fed up with her bracelet.

I find that if I keep 'her indoors' happy it usually means I can blow whatever amount I wish without too many silent days!!!

Pandora are just over marketed charm bracelets that have become so popular many women want a 'Pandora bracelet' rather than a charm bracelet.

Much like Apple took the tablet idea, made the iPad and marketed it to hell and back and now everyone wants 'an iPad' not a tablet.

It's just a bunch of generic charm jewellery with a load of markup, justified by a massive marketing campaign.

so from the general replies on here i should:

buy the pandora bracelet and some charms from a local high street
give to woman on xmas
call her a chav and a mainstream sheep
break up with her for above reasons
get bracelet back
return with reciept within 7 days
buy a NAS
?????
profit

is this correct?

The above is one option, But if you want to keep with the sexing, silent judging also works.

Leaves you out of pocket with regards to the "cheap tack" but you save money on tissues in the long run

Any jeweller would tell you that it's crap, even for costume jewellery (if they were being honest with you). This is however what the public want at the moment, so companies will happily supply them with it.

The counterfeit market for such charms is large, so if something appears to be more than 25% cheaper than the norm, it's probably fake.

Also keep in mind that when the fad wears off (and it will soon) you won't get a good price for it, less so for the piece of string / leather around your wrist.

In summary, it's crap.

Surely the idea behind charm bracelets is meaningful, personal charms, and resale value isn't a concern. It's not an investment.

Yes because the company hasn't been around since 1996 (and even earlier in their original form), their charm bracelets have been popular since 2000.... went worldwide 6 years ago....

Be real women and their love for jewellery will be around as long as people keep making them.

A fad is something that lasts a Christmas, my other half has had hers years now and still buying the odd charm from stores around the world.

It's marketing guff as far as I'm concerned.

Buying a horse shoe charm just because you like horses gives a feeling of "personalisation", that's the main selling point and I get that, it's a nice idea. However it isn't personalised, it's mass produced, poor quality, crudely shaped bits of tat.
It's fashion jewellery, it's the name Pandora that people want to be seen wearing just like the current wave of celebs are paid to wear, pose for pictures in and tweet about.

Tis poop :).

Beyond making charms themselves, how else should they personalise them? I'd argue that colour coordinating ones motherboard PCB and fans has less of a point than a charm bracelet. :p

You know it is funny really, the precious metals are only precious because they were shiny and looked good.

Is that any better than what's occurring here?
