Paranormal Activity 2

i was lucky in that the audience was pretty cool and no one did a running commentary. I got my moneys worth in that i jumped and screamed a few times. I liked how they tied in PA1. The step sister was the winning performance for me.

Also i was under the impression that they use relatively unknown actors for a more authentic feel. Few minutes into the film i realised that the main female lead was the presidents daughter from the penultimate season of 24. Kept expecting jack bauer to appear and kick some demon ass.

I watched this last night and thought it was rather well done, it had more shock factor and creepyness involved compared to the first. I think this is due to it involving a teenage kid, baby and dog and getting them involved.

It had the hair on the back of my neck up on end countless amounts of time and the way it ends leaves it open to a third film which if this is anything to go by will probably be even better.

I got persuaded to watch the first one at home with a friend, she panicked after the first 20 mins and said to turn the lights on! I'm a sucker for such little thrills but can't come abouts to make myself watch this. When I watch PA1 i played through all the 'weird bits' in my heard over and over again. Even though I can say to myself its only a film but I just wanted that thrill when thinking about it.

Anyone know any sources where I can read up about what happens in the story line of PS2 but not have to watch it?? Get my drift?

And Stoofa, get your coat and leave please.

Oh I see what you've done there.
Ah man - you rock.
The "Will catch this when it's out on...."
At this point I thought you were going to say DVD, I really did.
I thought it was going to be one of those boring posts.
But then, you did this stroke of genius thing.
You said "*ahem* DVD"

I stopped, and thought about it.
What could you mean?
A cough before DVD.
Then it hit me and I could see what you did and I thought WOW.
You're not going to catch it on DVD at all.
Instead you, and I can fully understand why, don't feel you should have to pay to see films and the like, so instead you're just going to steal it!
You deserve to steal things - because you're just, so damn cool and self-important!

WOW.
Once I got what you meant I could see just how cool you are.
No spending of cash on films people have spent a lot of money and more importantly a lot of time making.
No way!
Stealing is the way to go!!

Nice post, very clever!
*Ahem* - Genius!!

LOL - I enjoyed reading that, thanks.

Stoofa = LOL post.

PA2 was good, I really enjoyed PA1 tho. Didn't really understand the ending and hwy she is just there but it made me watch the first on again. S'all good!

Didn't understand the ending of PA2? Without giving it away to others as a spoiler. What did the nanny say in the kitchen when the husband called her back? Then he explained it to the daughter who was against the idea. ;)

I quite enjoyed the first one because it was a little different and quite tense, however the seond one, was just a rehash using the exactl same techniques and was very dull indeed as far as I'm concerned!

Saw PA2 last night with the GF. On the whole id say it was better than the first in the fact that stuff happened, didnt mind the first in the cinema but could not watch it at home as I would just be too tempted to go make some food or wander off, a lot of nothing topped off with a sudden noise. There was too much waiting in the first for me, theres building tension and then theres leaving it so long that the bang at the end comes as relief that something happened rather than a shock.

Anyway onto the second, enjoyed it being tied to the first and the linked story, enjoyed the introduction of outside characters, really liked the home surveilance idea rather than the single camera (was ridiculous at times in the first, "quick theres a huge bang and crazy foot stomping - ill just grab my camera. this will be awesome! safety? nah screw that. i want awesome home movies!") although the ending was a bit of a meh point after the talking point ending of the first.

My only gripe was the inability to get into the mood and swing of things as we must have gone to the cinema on 'selfish tool day' as there was only around 15-20 people in there and at least half of thsoe were teenage boys and girls giggling, shouting, talking and generally ruining the whole mood for everybody else. any silence was met with laughter from them all as they tried to show they werent scared and how cool they were. At one time a bloke appeared from one of the doors next to the screen and stared for like 2 minutes into the seats, it made everyone have a little giggle as it looked like hed just escaped from the film, proceed the annoying children laughing and talking about it loudly for the next 15 minutes. People say shhhh and they get worse. Apart from this nuisance, the film itself was a good theatre experience that i doubt would be quite as effective sat at home - although would be quieter...
