Rumour mill going mental up here that Pardew will gone today.

Got no source for anything yet but apparently its a done deal

Cashley is ruthless! (But right if he goes)

Wow that would be some turnaround. To have had the confidence of the board, so much so to being awarder an EIGHT YEAR contract, and then sacked all within the space of around 12 months.

Omg, i knew it was madness to put him on a long contract. Was it 5-6 years? No manager these days ever sees that out, esp in Newcastle. He must be rubbing his hands right now.

Not really. If the rumours I heard are true, there was a clause in his contract that stated if he were sacked, he would only get paid for one year, not however many remained. Kinda defeats the point of the 8 year deal IMO, but that's the rumour I heard.

Edit: beaten like a red-headed stepchild.

It only had a 1 year pay off max, the term was more to promote stability but no finances behind it.

That's quite interesting, I thought the 8 year contract was crazy and must have had some clever clauses within. Doesn't surprise me if he does go, worked his behind off to get the 8 year contract then just sat back and hoped for the best...

After reading that article I'm more than happy to see Pardew go.

He's wasting the talent we have within the club.

Vernon Anita was a dutch international until he was coached and put on the bench by Pardew. He is an exceptional player, but doesn't fit Pardews "style".
Sissoko arrived with a storm in his first 2 games (was playing how he was taught in France), then Pardew gets his hands on him, trains him to be more defensive, and in effect turns him into an ineffective advanced midfielder, so plays him on the wing!
Cisse was a natural finisher last season, arrived from Germany with a bang. Pardew gets his hands on him, plays him on the right wing! Trains him to be more defensive, and we all can see how that turned out this season...

And lastly Cabaye. If anyone has ever watched him play for France, he's a completely different player, reporters in France hold him in high regard as the Xavi and Iniesta of France. He plays a much higher role, and is much more effective for them. Pardew tells him to play deep and ruins his game.

We need a new manager, Pardew is living off his "lucky 5th" season, where we didn't play good football, we got lucky. We had players who had very good seasons, only to be managed by Pardew terribly this year. I'm sick of Europe and Injuries being an excuse.

We need a manager who is going to get the best out of these players, and play them in their correct positions for a start. Before he ruins young talent like Bigirimani and Campbell.

Good he's a very very limited manager and I was surprised he did quite so well last year and wasn't sacked off sooner this year.

Now is the best time to get rid.

Personally I can't see it happening. Ashley and Llambias' plan is longevity, the reason they have long contracts to the coaching team and Pardew.

Pardew has surpassed his ability, and this season we saw his true ability. Poor tactics, poor selection and poor excuses. I love his enthusiasm, and his attitude, but technically and mentally he is not a good manager.

Anita played, he was a bit rubbish, talking about an international like that means anything at all is worthless, as is comparing cup football to match football, as is ignoring who else is available for the French national team when discussion Cabaye's position.

France have had no significant injuries in the defensive midfielder position, Tiote has been injured, in and out of the team and out of form, Cabaye has been out of form, international football is at a level FAR below league level in quality. If half of the french team was injured, they too would ask Cabaye to sit deeper, that is football, that is league football and that is life.

As for asking to play Sissoko differently, he played basically on the wing in his first several games, more players than not have a storming first 4-5 games at a new club, a combination of form, confidence and wanting to impress the fans, then you go from renting a simple luxury hotel suite with your family and most of your possessions at home, to enrolling your kids in school, finding a house, moving your stuff, etc, etc. Life happens, and form tends to even out back to where it maybe should be.

Newcastle fans are becoming a joke, they got incredibly lucky last year, with few injuries, everyone in great form and a very rarely changed team throughout the year, that will bump up your league position, but Newcastle fans now act like they are completely above finishing in the lower half of the table and therefore shouldn't possibly be in a relegation scrap again.

There is no team in the world that given an extra 10 games in the first half of the season, with a crapload of injuries, would not struggle very badly in the league, you know why, because every team its happened to before has struggled, but Newcastle are unique and its all Pardew's fault.

Basically Newcastle fans, get the hell over yourselves, last year was a complete fluke, and you actually did frequently play very good football, you just ALSO had lucky games where you played badly and got a result.

You had at least a few lucky wins you didn't deserve last year, finished with 65 points, without them maybe it would have been more like 55 points. You got 41 points this year with essentially no luck at all, if you had and had been closer to 51 points.... its not a huge difference. Considering the injuries and lack of form, the lack of luck isn't surprising, everyone playing at their best, not coming back from injury, fitter, stronger, better, you get more lucky when everyone is playing well.

Cisse had PLENTY of chances in the box, despite playing on the right wing that last year he would have buried, last year was unsustainably brilliant, once again a player who turned up, was excellent and struggled in his second year. Cisse took over twice the number of shots, yet got only a little over half the number of goals... its not like because he played on the right he either did lots of defensive work, nor never got in the box, he took over twice the number of shots and was simply much much worse this season..

Is that strange, or normal? What about Jelavic, the Reading guy this year with the name I can't spell, Adebayor(on loan for a year great, second year at Spurs, dire), Welbeck's first full real season in the prem with Utd vs this year, Danny Graham, Holt, Yakubu went from terrible at Everton, to 17 goals last year, to..., Balotelli to a degree great last year, terrible at City this year, moves to Milan and scored 12 in 13 games, Odemwingie at West brom, great first season, less good last season, less good this season again.

It is natural for particularly strikers, to have great first seasons and get worse year on year, with the second year often being the biggest drop in quality.

You're talking like guys who have played football for 5-10 years professionally and trained for 10 years + before that, all randomly forget how to play football within 3 months. Yet within 3 months last year Cisse didn't randomly disappear.

But its Pardew's fault because people can't just use their brain, you ignore the injuries, that every other team in a similar situation has plummetted, that if half the team has been injured for prolonged periods that also means they lose fitness and form and struggle to get it back when half the rest of the team is also struggling for fitness and form.

Same with all the spurs fans who came tumbling into FS when Spurs were doing well before you choked (again)

Keep talking **** though cm, i'd suspect there was something up if you wernt.

not really the case though is it, No1newts we've been top 5 for a few years now.

and if spurs choked what the heck did newcastle do? lol.
