Pardew (apparently) gone

not really the case though is it, No1newts we've been top 5 for a few years now.

and if spurs choked what the heck did newcastle do? lol.

We've finished in the top 10 once under Ashley's reign...

We overachieved last season, we are now back to our normal selves. However we have the groundwork to become a top 6 side. Just not the staff.

If you're happy being "top 5" (ie. not a champions league team) good for you.

We were **** this year. But we survived (which became out target) your target was top 4, you failed.

Nice to see you dodge the point about you having fans coming and going though, it happens with everyone so don't try that a your label gob ***** as usual.

On topic, things have got a lot quieter. Could end up being a bull rumour but it seemed pretty nailed on at one point.

He really hasn't. Nothing concrete at all at the moment, just brain dead twitter 'ITK' rumours. I suspect we'll hear something tomorrow, more along the lines of him staying put.

Tempted to respond to the retarded post that DM has thrown together, but I'll resist as cm has already killed a few of my brain cells today.

Pards has to go I'm afraid. I'd love our club to have stability and consistency. But he's not going to take us forward. The same reason Hughton was sacked...

Pardew took all the plaudits last season for the 5th place finish.

Yet has took no blame this season for our poor performance, and has used every excuse under the sun but himself.

We need to develop our players, and unfortunately Pardew is not the man for that. I also think our fitness coach needs to look in the mirror as well. Payers who didn't even feature in Europe got injured or lost fitness...

Whilst on the subject of our coaching staff, I think Woody is the only one who can actually take credit. He's developed two outstanding keepers in his time (Krul and Foster). Hughton developed Colo into the clever defender he is now as well.

Time to move on, but I think Ashley is too tight to pay him off and find another manager

Who would Newcastle fans like to take over if he does leave?
If you'll allow me to be deluded then I'd say Benitez. The worrying thing is if Pardew does goes, knowing Ashley's track record, I wouldn't be surprised with Hughes, Pulis or Poyet - Scary thought. :(

Benitez, but this wouldn't happen. Benitez has no desire to manage a non-european team. He'd certainly get the best out of our players though.

Personally I'd like a Michael Laudrup continental style manager brought in.

Manager roundabout is nuts this summer!!
No stability anywhere these days :(

Everyone's about to get a whopping great revenue increase aren't they? Wages about to spiral again.

No surprise anyone who's underperformed over the last season is getting the boot.

can sort of understand the reason for it, but there main problem was getting into europe, same as it is for most clubs that don't have a full squad of players, newcastle are getting there but needed the time to get it.

injuries don't help, especially when you don't have the quality to cover the decent players in the squad.

fingers crossed for the toon fans they don't have to suffer hughes/pulis.......

Their main problem? Modern football really is bizarre. Clubs spend all season trying to qualify for European competition and when they get there they moan about the inconvenience.

No idea:p

If the philosophy is to play attacking football at a high tempo (looking at the players they've signed) then someone who ascribes to this view though they aren't around in huge numbers.

None of current English managers getting touted around. You could say Laudrup but he won't come to us (he's destined for bigger and better) so god only knows.

Cashley is slowly feeling his way forward in how to run a club so I imagine he would have a plan.

Seems a bull rumour in the end though :(

Good job I put "apparently" in the title.

With Pulis leaving isn't he something stupid like 2-3 longest serving manager in the PL right now? Crazy!

i know.

but if you don't have a decent enough squad, you play twice a week, which leaves next to no time for resting or recovering from little knocks/niggles/injuries, and i think that had a part to play in the toon's bad season.

Benitez would take the job. His preference is staying in England rather than European football. He's said that himself.

Wouldn't he manage Everton before he even thought about managing Newcastle!

Heck even Stoke finished above us this season and there's a vacancy there for him too!
