I think it not being stadium based has an effect for me. Not sure why.

The singers, dancers etc are just performing to a camera, no atmosphere.

Could very well be it.

It was like the singer, that when the camera panned out, was just a vague shape on a building in the distance .

Lol. I can't argue with a microbiologist then. I'm nowhere near qualified but have been informed being in the rain/wet for long periods will affect/lower immune systems....

Nah I think they wanted to try something new, now we've found out it's a bit **** I imagine it'll be well and truly back in the stadium for LA!

Just feels like a Royal parade as part of the Jubilee celebrations.

If I was the home nation team I'd want to come in last to a cauldron of a stadium cheering for you (with Heroes playing like we did ), not trundling down a river with a few fans cheering on the sidelines like it's the boat race.

it seems to be more about Paris and Paris culture, rather that celebrating the Athletes

Lets be honest, seen a fair few comments about London which makes sense, but can any of you remember anything of the Tokyo or Rio opening ceremony's? Probably not
