Parking Fine.

Actually I did, basically its because we should not have too, its a big expense we shouldn't have to fork out for just to defend ourselves against deliberately inconsiderate people. Its like telling women to hire bodyguards or else its their fault if they get raped.

I'm not apportioning fault as clearly it is the driver's fault for not obeying the signs. However, whilst you shouldn't have to install barriers, they shouldn't have to come back and find their car vandalised for what is essentially a minor civil dispute.

Whilst a barrier may have a high initial expense, it will pay for itself in the long run via saving you time coming up with revenge plots and the legal fees you're bound to face when someone sues you for criminal damage.

Its not that simple though, its more a case of they ignore the signs and come back and find a note reminding them its a private car pack and they should not be there, then if they do it again (proving beyond doubt that they are a bad person and deserve everything they get) the ****** are summoned.

The ****** are actually cheaper than TCP were and a barrier would be, we did the math during a lanparty :P

And we don't do any criminal damage and im shocked you would suggest such a thing :P to quote one off Terry Pratchett's books beating somebody up is thuggery, paying somebody to do it is business.

Deffo ignore it.

I got one in ASDA last May after I'd just spent £256 on shopping instore. I was 9 mins over because the monkey on the checkout couldn't grasp the use of a chip 'n' pin machine.

I ended up with a 'penalty charge' and threw it in the bin, I then had a strongly worded reminder which went to the same place and I've heard nothing since.

What you should do there is forward a copy of the 'penalty charge/invoice' to the Asda store explaining you are a customer of theirs who spends x amount of pounds in their store every month and is this how their valued customers are treated for minor infringements, etc etc.

Don't be surprised if one day you find your office burned down.

These things have a nasty habit of escalating ;)

You're the one talking carp - I'm hardly going to accept hearsay and conjecture on a forum am I?

How about this - I can run a mile in 3m45s. It must be true as I've posted it on a forum.

Sigh I had a bit of respect for you before and thought you had a pretty balanced view on things but now you are just being a ****.

The claim number for him was 1MK02144. He doesnt know if that was the ref number you are wanting but thats the number hes got.

Mr D**** Y**?

Interesting how the detailed bit on watchdogs site actually contradicts slightly some of the sound bite advice.

My belief is the key point (if you fail and get stuck on the who was the driver bit) is that they are applying a penalty and thats the biggest problem for them. They cannot make a penalty charge but only a reasonable charge. "Even if a case does reach court, the company may have trouble convincing a judge that the charge is fair"

Say you parked in the nearest Sainsburys to Heathrow and went away for a week, a £30 fine would probably be deemed to be fair. Some pictures are better than others, but I have seen some where the driver IS visible and they may just take a punt on going to court, you never know.

Overall chances are 3-4 more letters then zip.

Watchdogs advice is a little different on their page though than generally given in this thread.

Or he could just save himself the bother and throw it in the bin.

To be honest you have to pay it, or it will be unclean sin. It's against the law?!!! payment is due, cough up!

Nah joking, feed it to the dog - or give it to Shayper, heard he needs something to smoke. :)
