Parking - is this allowed?

If it was me, i'd be tempted to shove my car outside the drive, not out of badness to get him back but simply because its easier. It doesn't look the type of road to me where people would take your wingmirror off very often?

Neighbours are a pain, maybe generally approach them about it but other than that you might be wasting your time tbh.

Whats actually the problem, there seems to be loads of room? To get into my drive I have to drive forward onto the persons drive across the road and then reverse into the driveway

Never in my life have I seen such a nice house opposite what can only be described as "***** residence / council owned property".

Solution: Move ;)

I dunno about that, the fire might get a bit out of hand and end up pulling in 3rd parties, you could be in for a world of legal wrangling then. I suggest you just cut his eyes out with a rusty jigsaw blade and force-feed them to his children or something. That'd do the trick.

On a more serious note:
I know how annoying it can be when people park right across the road from your drive like that, sure it's quite possible to get in and out but it does mean you have to do a load of extra manoeuvring you wouldn't otherwise have to, which is indeed inconvenient. If I have 2 particular dislikes (actually I have thousands, but I'll stick to two in the interests of staying on topic), it is inconsiderate people and being inconvenienced by them. If there was no other obvious choice with regards to parking, it wouldn't be such a big deal, but when they clearly do have a choice, I agree, it's very annoying and it makes you wonder what the hell they’re thinking.

Ok that's it now, I have read just one too many "stop moaning" posts today, the man has a perfectly legitimate grievance, yes, maybe they are entitled to park there, but if they do not have to and they are making life more difficult for him by doing so, then do you not think, in the interests of good neighbourly relations and human decency, that they should park to the side a little? ...is that so much to ask?

I mean what is it with people like you? ..."stop moaning, don't whine, don't whinge" yadda, yadda, yadda. Some smart alec always finds the time to add that to a thread like this. We're British for god's sake, moaning and griping is part of our culture. It gets some of us through the day in at least a semi-sane state and stops us exsanguinating people who annoy us, such as you. if you don't want to read it, don't!

Stop moaning will you... if you don't want to read my post, don't! ;)

My neighbour does the same across our road. I have to do a little three point turn sometimes when reversing out but it is no bother and I doubt he does it intensionally.

I have the exact same problem as the OP - Its not so much as you cant get in it makes it more difficult.

Does anyone know the legal stance on blocking 5 inches of someone's drive - Its clearly possible for the driver to get into their drive, however - Whenever relatives park just in front of my drive they harass them and ask how long they are gonna be etc ?

In fact - They have a double drive, there car is parked in the drive and the additional space they "paid" for is for their son. They "paid" for the bit of road in front of there house also - Its clearly done out of bloody mindedness, they claimed my wife asked their son to move his car - And this is correct, however - He parked his car in front of my drive and there was no way for me to get in !

Hope OP doesn't mind me asking in thread !!

Watched a program on this very situation last night..

Basically it said that anyone can park their car infront of your drive (regardless of dropped kerb or whatever) as long as there IS NOT a car in the drive...

If your car IS on the drive and he is blocking you in, then it IS illegal...

That's my understanding, you can park accoss somebody else's drive and block access onto the drive but you can't block it and not allow them to leave their drive. - crazy rule. Don't you just love parking "issues" with neighbours

Count yourself lucky, I nearly always have to do a 3 point turn to get into my driveway (due to a transit van parked opposite), and quite often a 5 or 7 point turn (then again Fiat's turning circle would embarrass a nuclear submarine).

tbh i park outside my own drop kerb all the time i paid £350 to have it done and use it more as a space reserver than a drive ,when i do use it as a drive all the neighbours seem to move up gradually untill 0nes overhanging my space .tbh the multicar familys wind me up and cause most of the trouble even though theres a street car park on the road.

Everybody is saying the 'neighbour' hasn't done anything wrong, but he is clearly causing a nuisance. When the OP has his cars parked within the boundary of his property minding his own business.

There must be a limit to how long you can park your vehicle(s) on the public highway?

That monstrosity of a caravan he has in his garden could be subject to planning rules if it's stationary for a long period of time also.

there look enough room to get in n out to me
you have the pavement and the little bit before you go in your drive, so you could start turning as soon as u get out past the wall
