We have a garage as well as a reserved parking spot. The problem with parking in the garage and our space is getting in and out, the car park is really badly laid out hence we parked one car where the red is and one where the pink is.
So you have a garage that you don't use so instead use your allocated space and the area on the corner which isn't a designated parking bay.
It would seem like you are both in the wrong or just put up with it as you can't complain about the guy then park there yourself seeing as its not a parking bay.
My advice would be to park in the garage and your parking bay and put up with having to swap cars about, afterall you did move into the place knowing you only had one garage and one parking bay.

...
My sister has already spoken to him once about parking and the problems it causes so he parked slightly more away so you could park 2 cars straight, one behind the other, now he's gone back to basically dumping his car. Today was the first time it was moved in a week.
So we should be put out because of someone else?
There is, if he parks more over to the right hand side of the slodge. It wouldn't be so bad then.
To be clear, is the red splodge your allocated parking space? Are they definitely allocated to the houses?
OK, so if there was a way that he could park that wouldn't inconvenience me, I would just try and let him know in a polite manner. If it was me I would either approach him (depending what I thought of him) or leave a note on his car asking him if he could park in that way.
