hi guys

went out with friends in manchester last night, parked my car at Queen Street Park. there was only 1 space left so i parked there.

i did noticed there was a disabled sign but no disabled bay yellow marking on the ground. we debated it would be ok as the NEXT bay has disabled bay marking on the ground. We thought this sign post is for the next bay.

got back to my car at about 4am, got the PCN on my window.

went back there this morning to drop my friend off in this area and went to the car park. took a photo.

pls note, my car is not in the picture. the right car (fiat punto?) that was the bay i parked my car last night. you can see there is no disabled parking bay on the ground.

i thought all disabled bays must have marking on the ground?

cheers

Looks like the bays have recently been repainted without the disabled markings for that particular bay, if you look at Google Streetview images taken probably at some point last year, the old bays had white disabled markings.

whats funny about it? its a new sign and new yellow line?
google isnt that up to date really :p

i'd say that's disabled parking, as there's a sign in front of it and the bays either side are disabled parking.

contest it if you want, but i don't think you'll win

how do you know the space on the right is a disabled one?

Seems there must be a marking in the bay as well, so i'd go back there when it's empty and take a photo of the bay so that it's clear there's no marking.

Then tell the council to shove it. ;)

For sure, it's quite clearly disabled parking. I don't quite understand how anyone could fail understand what that sign on the railing means. I'd never park there unless I wanted a fine.

No, its quite clearly going to be a disabled space but currently is not.

upon closer inspection, it appears to be some rubbish :p
i thought the white stuff on the ground was the wheelchair painting

in that case, it's not really all that clear cut. it's weird, the sign is clearly in front of the middle space, but the disabled bay is the one on the left..

good luck! :D

Was there a sign on the railing where in the bay to the left where you parked? If not then it sort of looks like they painted the bay but put the sign up in front of the wrong bay.

I would contest that, get a pic of the bay asap with no disabled marking on the ground, use the website listed above and you should get easily off with that.
