I have a Trinty TESOL certificate which is a qualification to teach English as a second language and I have a few months teaching experience (used to work in IT).
Just a case of seeing the job advert and going for an interview, managed to get the job. It's a 1 year contract but if I stay on after that I can choose to do 4 days a week which is tempting.
@joeyjojo: If you're serious about Japan specifically one way to do it without a TEFL qualification is via the JET program: http://www.jet-uk.org/
@dekez: prices similar to here afaik but they do have a lot of weird and wonderful gadgets you can't get elsewhere. My first purchase will probably be a 23-24" monitor because a 14" laptop is going to be too big a step down for me to manage.
