Partial builders? upgrade advice

Hi guys, ive had my pc now for a few years and am thinking of upgrading basically everything.

Current build:

i5-7600
rx-570 4gb
16gb ddr4 2133mhz
corsair vs450 psu
1tb hdd
Samsung 256gb ssd

Potential build:

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £880.05 (includes shipping: £11.10)

Keep the case,hdd and ssd?

So ive got a few questions, first off do you guys think this would be a decent build,or have any suggestions how to improve or things I don't really need and could save on? Budget is about 1k but could go a bit higher. I only use pc for gaming and mainly play shooters and rpgs.

Im not comfortable doing these upgrades myself but all big sites ive seen only offer build service on new builds not partial so are there any reputable companies or people anyone knows where I could send new parts with case and drives to be built?

Orrrr should I just get a whole new build and maybe sell current pc on ebay or something, not sure what any of its worth but I doubt very much?

Many thanks

Welcome aboard.

For example good case is well reusable to save money and drives can be also reused.
(mine is from 2008)

But forget that Asus B450-F, which is basically brand scam.
Its CPU VRM is at level of market garbage PCs and can't properly/reliably support all CPUs it claims to support.
Even £80 Asrock B450 Pro4 has better VRM.
And £104 MSI B450 Tomahawk just curb stomps that Asus.

That could actually take 12/16 core CPUs decently well as upgrade.

Again in X570 boards its MSI which sells crap for money.
You should simply never buy something basing on brand/previous product reputation.

Neither you can trust Asus to make good AMD graphics cards, if you want quality for money.
They're pretty much pro-Nvidia brand and with repeating incompetence its almost like if they're paid to sabotage AMD cards with half assed designs
Especially 5700 XT TUF is total scam and Strix isn't that good either:

Sapphire Pulse would be one of the better designs.

For CPU Ryzen 3600 and Arctic Freezer 34 is cheaper and could well be actually faster, because cooling efficiency affects to boost clocks.

Here's 3200MHz CL16 kit for £20 less:

Actually there's 3600MHz kit for same price as that Corsair.

BeQuiets have brand overprice for things like fixed cables and basic level 5 year warranty.
At that price level standard warranty is 7 years and fully modular 10 year warranty PSUs are near:

And would definitely recommend new SSD, unless you just love loading times of HDDs.
Half TB is pretty much minimum.

Thanks for the very helpful reply! Yeah tbf i do struggle a bit with the ssd and find myself deleting stuff a lot. Also yeah i do tend to get drawn to the brands i recognize as im not very knowledgeable when it comes to this sort of stuff so thanks for the suggestions.

At this point though i feel like if im upgrading the ssd anyway and im not attached to the case i may as well just do a whole new build.

Total: £1,165.03 (includes shipping: £13.20)

I thought id still go for the 3600x as for an extra 40 quid may as well as spending a bit anyway. also i know there's a lot of cheaper (and prob better) cases but liked the look of them for a while.

Like i said before i wouldnt be comfortable building this but when i try to configure a build i cant select all the parts ive listed? If i contact them showing this particular build would they be able to do it?

Many thanks

If you have big game library, but don't want to pay for SSD for them, one option would be installing only heavier and most played games on SSD and using part of SSD for caching HDD.
PrimoCache would do that without any complications/extra hazards when in read cache mode.
https://www.romexsoftware.com/en-us/primo-cache/

First new load of game drive happens at speed of HDD.
But at next start of game/load of next level previously accessed files are loaded from SSD cache and only new data needs to be loaded from slow HDD.
After few times that game basically loads like it were installed on SSD:
https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/did-some-benchmarking-of-an-ssd-caching-solution.2533859/

And because of cache being on non volatile SSD instead of RAM, cached data stays there over PC shut downs.
Depending on chosen SSD space used for caching, multiple smaller/older games could fit into it.
Once cache fills, longest time ago/least used data is replaced by cached data of latest data access.

Difference between 3600 and 3600X is marginal at best.
It won't make any difference to longevity and over the fact, that next-gen consoles will bring underclocked for energy efficiency variant of 8 core/16 thread 3700X as base level.
That money would be better spent on toward 1TB SSD, especially because of limited number of M.2 slots.
Some games are just off the charts bat crazy space hogs:

If your not happy you have the 14 day return option. The stock cooler is fine especially if your mainly just gaming, don't forget it's the same cooler that ships with the 12 core 3900x so does have some headroom.
