hey,

ive just reinstalled vista and when i set it up i split my harddrive into 4 partitions, C: for vista, D: for programs, E: music, F: videos. the problem is that every time i try install/download anything it defaults to C drive which is getting quite full, is there anyway to get it to set D as the default location for these activites.

if not is there a free alternative to partition magic so i can remove/reduce the other partitions and extend C?

cheers

Gary

thanks miniyazz worked perfectly

cheers tonyator,im on vista 64bit but it wouldnt let me do it it would only let me reduce the partitions not merge or increase them.

quick warning about this, after at first all seemed well then when i checked i could not access regedit or msconfig from the run menu neither would device manager add hardware or computer management in admin tools

ive just restored it in safe mode though and i think software might be better in the end
