Partitioning

Hi

I've never partitioned a hard drive before; so i don't know much about it.

I was wondering if a drive partitioned in 2 (1 partition for the OS and programs and the other one for the rest of the data) would be faster and perform better than just leaving it as one drive.

Are there any problems with creating 2 partitions e.g programs wanting to save things on the C drive
