Starting to get tired, cant decide if this will work or not.

I've ran out of space on my C drive, and im buying games at the moment so im kinda screwed.

Plan was to just make a games partition up, but on W7 you can shrink 'Y' partition but then only make a new partition or add back to 'Y'.

So new plan is to just re-install windows again. Re-install on 1 partition. Then make a few from there

1) How big should i make a C partition which is only having applications on (no games)
2) If i made my partition for the example 45GB for the C drive. Leaving 955GB for 2 more partitions. I could make a games one say 70GB, my storage one say 400GB. Leaving the extra 485GB 'unallocated'. Would i be able to use that unallocated space to add to my games partition and my storage one?

Using a 1TB hdd if you hadn't noticed. And ofc 1TB is 930GB but i tried to make the post simple as im sure it won't make sence!

Yes, add as I need. Not sure if I will be able to add though. Should be

reinstalling windows now anway, 20minutes since I put disk in and on 0% of expanding windows files -- slow :(

You can do it as you said, though if and when you decide to Increase the size of your games drive, don't do it in windows, it will turn the disk into a dynamic disk... use something like GParted...

ty UKDTweak but:

Once i had re-installed i made up a storage partition and a games one. I made the games one 60GB and storage 400gb. With the left over space though i could only add to the last partition i made so...

I just ended up making my games one 150GB (which will be plenty) and my storage the rest which was 727GB. Leaving 56GB for the C drive. Everything is installed on the C and 34GB is remaining so :)

150Gb is probably more realistic size for the Games partition. especially if you plan to or already have a steam account that can grow to quite a large size very quickly :)
