PASCAL PRICES Post 11xx

I've only sold stuff. I'd buy from a trusted member for the right price but that's one of the problems. When it come to GPU's especially the prices are usually too high. I rarely see the date of purchase mentioned which IMO is quite important. I mean a 2 year old mined on 1080 is not worth the same, to me at least, as one bought three months ago and used for gaming for say 7 hours a week.
I've always been of the opinion that something just a month old is worth 25-30% less than new. Then adjust that figure for age, possible lack of warranty (not all are transferable), use (mining!) etc.
Paying 80% of new retail price for something that's say 6 months old, i'd rather just cough up the extra 20% and buy new.
People moan about new card pricing but the prices I see many trying to sell their used stuff for is always a bit out there too IMO :p

I can't access the MM either but completely agree with this. Often see people on other online classifieds pricing PC gear in general waaaay too expensively.

Even for very good condition kit, if the price is within a quarter/third of new, might as well buy new. Warranty on its own it worth it.

could not agree more, people are charging way too much for second hard graphics cards. There are people on certain auction site are trying to sell faulty cards for something like 70% of second can selling prices. I are these people for real ? what even more astonishing is that people are buying them lol. I am surprised this auction site is making money of computer parts, everything on there is ridiculous price, you might find the odd good deal by luck but its not like it was 7-8 years ago that's for sure.

Just not worth buying second hand any more, i am not paying £500 for something with questionable usage and no warranty or limited warranty transfer.

Exactly. Someone tried to sell a 1070 on a different forum for 330 when a NEW palit is going for 330 here. Regardless of which brand might be marginally better, a 1-2 year old card versus a new card with warranty and maybe the ability to claim it as a business expense... no brainer!

im very tempted by 1080ti or 1080 right now, right now running a ATI 6970 and its killing me tbh I don't think i can wait any more.
I will just resell it and take a loss and new TitanXpXXPPpppx or whatever its going to be called.:)

I can get a 1080ti for £450 or 1080 for £320 right now someone is offering me these prices.

Someone stop be from jumping off the #waittrain:D

just wondering what will the resell value of these will be after the new cards are out?

That is the million dollar question! All depends what performance the 11-series offers and what they're priced at. For the FE cards (if they stick with that moniker) I am predicting a 10-20% bump on the 1080Ti with the 1180, and 40% perhaps even 50% over the 1080 in DX12 & Vulkan titles. Could we see the 1180 priced around the same as the 1080 was on release... £600-620? If so, that makes a second hand 1080Ti at £450 a steal, assuming it's still in warranty etc. Obviously prices of the Pascal cards new won't be as cheap even when the 1180 is released, but when the 1080 came out I don't recall 980/980Ti prices plummeting either. Second hand is always going to get you the best value, providing you get a good quality card that hasn't been ragged, coil whine etc.

Good price. I use a 1080Ti with a 1440p panel, therefore I will wait for a 7nm card. What resolution do you play at?

Thanks Legend, that sealed my fate. Off the train i go:eek:

If i can sell the 1080Ti for even £300 in a few months time I would be very happy.

Now I need to decide what card to get. My Tv right now is 1080p only but I have a 4k TV that i will bring up if i buy a 4k capable card. If not then i will just game on this 1080p heat monster till I buy OLED next march.

My options are

1080ti £450
1080 £320
RX580 8GB for £150

I could go with the RX580 and wait for new cards, I am correct a 580 is fine for most games at 1080p?

I hate choices :D

So what to do right now
