PASCAL PRICES Post 11xx

I reckon
1050ti - 1060
1160 = 1070
1170 = 1080ti
1180 = Titan V~

if that's the case with all the old miner cards and people waiting to upgrade, it'll be a bloodbath, wouldn't be surprised to see used 1070's sub £200
There is not one miner. And you make assumptions. There are only rumours about the 1180/2080 or what ever. There is NOTHING concrete

And you will be dreaming if the 1180 will have the same performance with the Volta Titan.
1180 is nothing than re-spinned Pascal.

Oh nice one, you quote some one making guesses, telling him there is NOTHING concrete and then inform every one that the 1180 is nothing more than a re-spinned Pascal.

Now of course we have to assume you meant that 'you' think the 1180 is nothing more than a re-spun Pascal, because that is just another one of the many rumours that have been floating around.

Now of course it will be an evolution of Pascal/Volta, as every generation evolves from the previous. But I don't see how it can be a straight die shrink, with rumours listing different core counts, GDDR6, which probably would need a new controller, some rumours are talking about tensor cores, which no Pascal has etc etc.

Hmm b-grade graphics cards always smell like coil whine to me. I've never had a problem with coil whine myself but I know it really bothers some people.

I will be careful on used 1080s and 1080Tis going that cheap. They could easily have been used in mining farms.
You need to know where are you buying from used parts unfortunately.

And no gamer will sell his 1080Ti that cheap only miners having recoup all the costs plus profit.
Check how many cards of that type have sold by looking at their account.

I've resold and bought some Strix cards used in mining farms and most of them if anything clock better lol. Just need to check the fans for any obvious signs if you plan on using the cooler still.

I mean no one knows for sure but what I am hearing is a launch earliest end of this month but more likely to be next month or even September. That means they will be around in various formats for Christmas I guess. But don't get too excited because the feeling at the moment is the 1180 will be around the same as the current 1080ti, or perhaps even more, if you can even work out what that is, with prices all crazy at the moment. That means current 1080 prices are comparable to the 1170 prices? I guess it all depends what the performance of the 1170 is as to whether you consider the a 1080 to be a bargain buy right now.

Bought and sold GPU's, CPU's and other stuff on the MM.

Nver had a problem yet (touch wood).
I've only sold stuff. I'd buy from a trusted member for the right price but that's one of the problems. When it come to GPU's especially the prices are usually too high. I rarely see the date of purchase mentioned which IMO is quite important. I mean a 2 year old mined on 1080 is not worth the same, to me at least, as one bought three months ago and used for gaming for say 7 hours a week.
I've always been of the opinion that something just a month old is worth 25-30% less than new. Then adjust that figure for age, possible lack of warranty (not all are transferable), use (mining!) etc.
Paying 80% of new retail price for something that's say 6 months old, i'd rather just cough up the extra 20% and buy new.
People moan about new card pricing but the prices I see many trying to sell their used stuff for is always a bit out there too IMO :P

honestly for me i think the most interesting thing on the new 1180 could well be what it adds for VR.

not sure if that also ties in with this
