My parents are pretty insistent that I take pass plus, and are willing to pay for it, so I'm all for it - if they pay and I get cheaper insurance, I don't really lose out!

I was just wondering what is expected of you. Is it a teaching thing, or is it something that you are tested on? Is it like a 6 hour long test, to make sure that you have maintained a decent standard, or will they overlook things that you may have been expected to do for the test but not during everyday driving? Will you be tested again for things like maneuvers and emergency stops etc? What happens during a pass plus course!?! Any info would be great :D

Yea my instructor did them in 2 hour blocks, i think its about 8 hours driving in certain conditions.

Need to drive at night time/country roads/on motorways and stuff.
As above, basically involves a tick list of activities and not a test.

It's 6 hour long sessions on how to drive:
-At night.
-On the motorway.
-In the country.
-In Adverse weather conditions.
-In Town.
-Driving on dual carriageways.

There is no test.

I did it, and it did improve my driving, motorway driving especially so. So even if it doesn't bring your insurance down, it's a plus.

It's worth it even if it takes a tenner off your insurance, you gain a fair bit of good knowledge.

Skeeter, the savings vary, I saved about £400 on my premium with pass plus although I did go with a new driver specialist company. The main companies may not give as big a discount.

I took it as the net saving against my insurance was positive and I got a bit of instructed motorway driving :)

I learnt that you cannot go faster than the person in the lane to your right on the motorway because it technically counts as undertaking.

What's wrong with that?

Everything when the left lane is empty and then I have to push my car to about 90 to keep out of the way of the muppets who want to fly along in the outside lane. All I want to do is cruise at a constant 70 but idiots make driving on the motorway such a chore.
