Just bought myself a TDI Passat as a winter hack, and had a few questions I thought some of you might be able to assist in :D

Performance feels even more lacklustre then I expected even In gear, 40 - 60 takes around 10 seconds in forth, which seems ridiculously slow, am I right in thinking that's slow?

It's a candidate for a remap to try and extract a bit more performance, any recommendations on here? I'm going to look at more specialist forums too but I know a few on here have the engine in their cars.

Oh and finally, anyone local to CV8 Postcode got a vag-com they could plug in?

Ta

Yeah I gathered as much, I was just stuggling to keep up with a 1.25 fiesta, not a feeling I'm used to in the 200. It is however doing 58mpg which is double what I'm used too, guess I'll just have to spend the saved pennies on entertainment for the mundane drive.

My non-PD 90BHP Octavia pulls pretty strongly. 40-60 in 4th should not be that sluggish! Can you hear the turbo?

40-60 in 4th in 10 seconds sounds about right for a low powered engine in a car like that. Heck, even mine takes 6.8 seconds do 40-60 in 4th.

BWhahahahahwhahahahahah...........

..........you said "Heck" :D

I was considering a Passat as a 2nd car a few weeks ago, so I could get on with engine mods on the Ti.

58mpg doesn't half sound tasty :(

The MAF sensor was knackered on ours for a good 8 months, making it super slow. Infact, you could put your foot down at 70mph on the dual carriageway and see almost no increase in speed

I reckon it was doing a zillion miles to the gallon at that point :p

Well, my latest is 33 so anything better is a good deal! But seriously, 58? Wow! My mate has a 130 and that does actually feel pretty meaty. And comfy, it just can't handle at all.

Hmm maybe you're right. I'll get a rough time in my 90BHP today out of interest.
