Its a ftp game - of course there will be mtx but this company is one of the few that does it right.

The first POE was a fabulous game and not much doubt this one will be even better - your loss but at least educate yourself before posting rubbish. At no point during POE did I fell pressured to buy mtx at all or feel i was "missing out". The shop is not in your face at all - its a button on the UI and one splash screen sometimes on startup. In fact it was several years before I even got around to buying a few stash tabs - makes loot easier but not essential.

Wow. Anyone would think this was Diablo Immortal, or some Korean grindfest, then you'd have a point. They do not push MTX at all, it's a FTP game where your only investment for limitless play time thereafter is the price of AA game at most. It doesn't even have an active transmog/glamour scence like WOW or FFXIV have, there's no shaming or showing off about not spending on MTX spending anywhere to be found. There;s absolutely nothing from GGG in the game to shame you into spending, that's just incorrect.

You're wrong, it is not designed as FOMO outfit shop at all. The hardcore ARPG player base that POE has is also the worst kind of audience to attempt a FOMO cash shop anyway.

I think you're taken a general rule and applied it to game whereiot doesn't work.

If you feel like you'd like to play the game, but you'd erected a misplaced purity barrier in front of yourself, then tbh frank then only person who is going to lose out is you.

Thankfully the vast majority of people don't think like this....POE is literally a shining example of how to do MTX and f2p fairly and properly. What a laughable post :P
 
Never played POE but enjoyed Diablo 2 a lot. Is this quite similar and what class should I look at. I'm a boring player on diablo 2 and enjoyed barbarian.
 
Excited to try this out, no experience with POE1, but ready to have my mind blown coming from Diablo 4

Wonder how the servers will fair this weekend :eek:
 
DS Lily shattering my gemling legionairre hopes and dreams... but I'm still rolling it.

I can see why she's binned it, it doesn't have any ascs that define it beyond what other classes can do - it's just more. But we do not know what quality does for gems yet, and those 3 extra skill slots still seem OP to me and can be taken in the first trial. Sustaining 3 extra skills with mana (spirit) is another question, and only being able to use supports once reduces the options. I think it will be a case of taking 3 completely different skills, like minions, totems, etc to spec in supports you havent used. (i prolly wont be taking the "supports can be used twice" asc).

I loved my Seasonal Necromancer in D4 (auto corpse explode and 19 second invulnerability) my character did very little other than just run around as my minions killed everything so i'll see if I can make a similar build
 
I'm going for Stormweaver Sorceress. One more sleep. Are the servers likely to be bad tomorrow? Maybe having to pay for a free game might cut numbers down somewhat

By all accounts the numbers are huge, I expect server explosions and queues so long that the people toward the rear will end up playing Path of Exile 3
 
What GPU for POE2 at 1440p with a Ryzen 7600? Need something to tide me over until the new stuff launches. Edit: looks like the 6650XT can picked up for ~£200 - should be enough?
