Path of Exile 2

Why would you start a hc character in a game with brutal bosses that everyone's expected to die on, multiple times?

Twitch drops over the first week. The pet is cool, but GGG putting 2 fingers up to people holding MTX currency by requiring it be bought as subs via twitch.
I hate to say but this is pretty low from them, but I suspect it's got something to do with a side deal with AWS providing them servers. /disappointed

comments are indicating all the items will be in the store once POE2 releases, so you won;t have to spend money on twitch if you can wait for the pet.

I start again when I die in hc, it will just depend how stable the servers are initially as its one thing to die in hc/permadeath in a game due to me making a mistake and another to die in hc/permadeath in a game because I lose connection to the server. I'm hoping all the practice they've had with release days on leagues will mean the server stability will be decent.
different numbers this time round i think.
last league their biggest being 350k, they're currently expecting 1,000k slightly different ballpark :p

anyway good luck on your hc journey, dont envy learning the bosses on hc myself.

You need to readjust your metric. The only mtx that isn't purely cosmetic are stash tabs that you need to make the game tolerable in dealing with your loot. It's a fair trade off for f2p game that gets more content in a single league update than d4 has had across all its seasons and paid expansions.
Nah I'm good.
If a game has mtx, even if it's cosmetic, then it is a shop not a game. It will be designed to encourage you to spend, advertising to you, making you feel bad for not spending, etc.

You dont need to spend money on twitch to be eligible for twitch drops, you get twitch drops even if not subbed to the streams

The pet reward needs you to gift 2 x subs.
That particular item then yeah but generally speaking for twitch drops in games you dont need to spend money (You dont even need to watch, just stick it on in a browser and go do/play something else. What I tend to do is have it running on the browser on my phone and just leave my phone aside :) )

Have you actually watched the trailers and videos for the content that is releasing with this game in early access? How you can call it a shop and not a game is just ridiculous. This is looking like it will have more "gameplay" content then a lot of titles that have a full release, which people happily pay £60-£70 for.

Yet if someone gets a game for free, but wants to spend £10 on something that looks cool for their character, then it's a shop not a game

Also like to know how they will make you feel bad for not spending money, when it's entirely your decision to spend money or not? The only games that do this is mtx games that are pay to win.

Ascendancy full reveals. I was intending on finding out in game, but as it's an official announcement I'm gonna struggle not to peek over the next couple of days.

This info was revealed a week ago in the pre-launch promotional video. Still lacking info on the classes / ascendancies that aren't in EA, though.

I've had a look as I figure it'd be better to know in advance rather than sitting ingame for an hour going through each one when I could be playing.
Is anyone really going to watch 3 hours of twitch to get a cosmetic portal & pet?
Not at all. I'll have a twitch tab open in the background with the sound muted. That's how I usually get these things.

Proves me right though imo. Each to their own anyway, not gonna derail this thread anymore. People know it has mtx and can make up their own minds.
look at it this way,
poe1 is f2p. you can do everything in game for free. you could "finish" the game without spending a penny.

however i'd argue once you've completed the campaign and are somewhat deep into the main endgame (maps) it would be worth spending maybe ~£20 to be able to buy some stash tabs. but at this point we're probably already talking 20-60hours of game time, depending on player and how much they use guides.

compare it to say diablo4, you gotta spend the £60 up front. here you can try before you buy/support.

I presume it will be similar to the D4 Twitch drops where you could start a video and leave it running in the background

I think the only thing that's changed in recent months is that twitch can tell if you've muted it (via their player controls) and don't reward for muted watches (or so I heard)
