Path of Exile 2

Potential

Yay!

When we getting new content, I'm bored with this game
In terms of main acts, I think it will be a while yet because I'm sure they will release act 4 , 5 and 6 all at the same time but I think there will be some other content before then, I wouldnt be surprised if they did some tests of leagues before acts 4 to 6 are added.

I'm guessing my crashing/freezing was down to the 21H42 or whatever it was, win11 update after all...not had a single lockup since the patch and have changed zones loads of times (which is when it most commonly happened)

I had crashes/complete lock ups following the Windows 11 24H2 update. Switching to Vulkan seems to have resolved the issue for me but perhaps I haven't played enough recently to notice if there are still a few issues - I'm waiting for a bigger content/balance patch.

I'm glad they are also introducing the crash fix to PoE1 as it suffers as well. I had to reinstall 23H2 to stop the crashing, and I've been holding off the 24H2 upgrade until they got around to sorting it.

Playing as warrior at the moment and in act 2 it has become more interesting, going to complete all acts with warrior and then try a different class

touch wood i have had no crashes or performance issues.. hopefully will be addressed soon for people who are experiencing crashes..

just finished the first act boss, with a mate. there are 5 of us in a guild but just two of us on..man, we are so pumped its unreal lol, will sleep peacefully tonight!!

So I’ve bought this and I’m not a fan of Arpgs cause I generally suck and I found PoE1 far too complicated for my tiny brain.

So wish me luck!

Any tips? Good noob friendly builds and what have you cause I do want to give it a whirl.

Play as Monk or a Witch/summoner build. Don't bother with armour ...it's busted, go with energy shield and/or evasion as your basis for defense. Other than that, just play the game and learn as you go along.

If you like a minion playstyle I'd suggest that because it's going to do you well throughout the campaign for a first playthrough (it's also good in end-game, but that's less important now). Most caster builds suck in the campaign before you have enough skills/points/gear, melee is pretty awful and very one-dimensional atm, and ranged has some nice OP combos (gas arrow + flame wall) but is a bit more intricate to control, while the other ranged skills are also not so great early on starting as a newbie. Minions have the exact right balance to start the game with (minus the first few levels until you get more spirit and SRS + Arsonists).

You can always try the other playstyles on subsequent playthroughs, which right now if you like the game chances are you'll do that many times over since the campaign is by far the best part of PoE 2.

Hmm, interesting. Maxroll points out for one of the Witch builds to add a shield in the off hand for armour even at the expense of energy shield.

  • Use a Shield over a wand or a Focus!
A Shield provides passive block chance against attack and spell damage which is a very strong defensive layer.

The main benefit is +spirit, + energy shield and +chaos resistance. The armour is of secondary importance, particularly until that whole mechanic gets brought into line ( if ever ?? ) with other defensive measures.

I have gone with mainly armour on my warrior and seems to work well with 75% block chance (86% armour with a further 8% from my shield). I have played around with the body armour that swaps half your life for energy shield but a bit too squishy then. I focused on damage output in the campaign, then when you get to endgame look at getting resistances up to max asap.

I'm repeating the campaign for the 2nd or 3rd time to try and get to the end game, tbh I've lost interest.

Whilst really enjoying the game the lack of meaningful loot dropping when you've just had a challenging fight is a bit disheartening and constantly repeating content to get to that end stage isn't great fun. I'll give it a bit of time before going back to it, but has anyone else felt the same?

Yup, I feel the same. As I said earlier in the thread, the game is lacking in content at the moment. End game is very bare bones ; half the campaign is missing ; half the weapons & classes aren't there. The player count has fallen to a quarter of what it was only 2 months ago at launch. Says it all really.

Yeah I felt exactly the same. Not launched the game since Diablo season 7 launched on 21st Jan, and Not having played Diablo since November, it was crazy to go back and see how much loot drops compared to POE2
