Really enjoying the beta, its a direct copy of Diablo 3, every little detail they could possibly have stolen, has been, but then they have improved somethings, though others are worse.
Biggest and most improved is the skill tree, it actually has one! Looks crazy too, you can create some very interesting specs. Its no where near as polished as D3, but then its still in beta, so things will probably improve. Worst I've noticed is the map, it looks like a game from a ZX spectrum and that probably being slightly unkind to the ZX. Also the animations are somehow comical when you compare them to D3, its not that its bad, just not as good as D3.
Where this game really shines though is in the previously mentioned skill tree, it gives you multiple ways to play the same characters, all of which can be vastly different. The theory behind it is that rather than giving you full respecs they give you respec points, so you can try a skill out, don't like it, just remove it and go the other way on the tree. However, if you want to change your spec completely, its expected of you to re-roll another character. Not sure if they are going to sell things like repecs in the micro transactions store or not, but I'd expect them too at some point.
I really don't like the naming system, unique names are horrid, especially as numbers are classed as invalid characters in your heroes name
A much better system would have been to add a secondary handle to give us an almost infinite amount of names. eg. wilderbeast@ocuk
I love the gems, they seem to work much better than the D3 fixed type ones, and the amount of customising you can accomplish with all the orbs and the like, is simply outstanding. So much more involving than D3. You have to laugh at the way the items are coloured the same as D3 and the elite mobs are also coloured the same as D3
I loved D3, though it was disappointing in some areas, I really hope this delivers what we were all expecting D3 to give us, but fell short of in a few areas.
