PAYDAY 2

My biggest gripe is that none of the levels I've played have captured the grand scale and epic feel of the original Payday 1 heists - playing through Panic Room (buzzsaws through the room, helicopter lifting the room away) and First World Bank (breaking into increasing levels of safe security), I felt like part of a coordinated team playing out cool heists that wouldn't be out of place in a Hollywood film.

In Payday 2, breaking into safe deposit boxes in a bank the size of a fast food outlet, or damaging 4 shops on a street is not epic.

It's mundane.

Am I alone in feeling this way?

i know what you mean, but i'll wait till we see the 7-day heists anyway before making a judgement :)

Definitely. As I see it these are the low level 'training' heists, I fully expect to see more multi-stage epic heists unlocked as you progress and rank up in the main game, maybe you'd need to be rank 30 before you can start trying them.

I'm keeping in mind that this is technically still beta.

I agree that it would be good if you could F-spot money bags and the AI would pick them up, having to run back and forth is a bit annoying.

How many cable ties does each player get before and after the upgrade?

Watched a play through last night and I was surprised that you can't move people in to one/two/three rooms so they are easier to guard instead of doing mad dashes out on to the street to make sure everyone is still down

We've been managing to do the jewellery store now quite successfully as pure stealth now which makes for a nice and quick 50k pay-out. Aside from the occasionally screw up on our part (or the security guards not surrendering when we expect them to) the only major problem we've got with it is when you get the cop car at the hotdog van on the corner.

Maybe our only option is to simply wait around until the civs are in such a position that we can take them all down while they're very far from the police. That could be quite a wait though.

We gave the Nightclub a try and we almost managed that stealthily until we lost track of a couple of civs and they fled out back in the mayhem and confusion of the area ><

Hopefully we'll be able to pull off a Bank Heist: Cash stealthily soon. The camera's always end up catching 1 of us out though. How does it go down when you shoot the camera's? Is there a limited number you can take out before the guard gets suspicious and calls the cops or does he leave the office to check them out or what?

@above - Its 2 cable ties before the upgrade, 10 after. Its a tier 1 upgrade so very worthwhile getting even if you've focused elsewhere. Jewellery store had around 17 or 18 civs in it so you'd need at least 2 people with the upgrade to cable tie them all to be on the safe side.

The feature to move civilians and dead bodies around is a must IMO, extremely disappointed that like most games, they completely overlooked that aspect. I can only think of 3 games off the top of my head that allow you to move bodies; Hitman, Deus Ex & Assassin's Creed. It's pretty tacky when a game doesn't let you do something that vital + simple especially when it has stealth aspects.

Hahaha! That's epic, can you put them down once you pick them up? Then again you can't close doors on the damn game either so it'd be pointless silenty stacking a million corpses into a wardrobe. Hmm, weird that you have to bag em first though, surely you could just drag somebody awkwardly by the ankle like Hitman :p but I suppose it's all there for balance and the metagame, bleh.

They do kinda jokingly say you can't shut doors right at the start because you're in the business of opening them... so its not like they haven't considered it.

Why wouldn't you be able to put them down again? And I know the Jewellery store level at least has a dumpster you can open so I guess you could lob the bodies in there.

Because if the game has as many oversights as it does, it wouldn't be surprising if when you picked up a body it became permanently bound to your inventory in your bag slot until you found somewhere to dump it.

Well yeah... you BAG them. Why wouldn't it go into your bag slot until you throw it down somewhere? You know, like any other bag you can pick up? I've not actually got the skill so can't confirm it but can't see why it would play out any other way.

No I meant in there permanently until you found a scripted container to put them in, if you can just drop them where ever then thats good lol. :p

Not gonna play it again I don't think until release, not if it gets reset. :(

The intimidate mechanic is such an irritating thing to rely on. It seems like it only works if you use it the instant they draw there gun, regardless of whether or not you've been within range of them for ages already. Problem is sometimes the guards open fire almost immediately and if it doesn't work you aren't sure whether you wanna take them down or hope it works the next time.
