Really enjoying this, but I'm never quite sure what I should be doing... I end up just covering the guys looting stuff & carrying bags at the end...

System
XP buff for HARD, VERY HARD, OVERKILL to account for increased difficulty, making it more rewarding
Pro Job XP payout increased on OVERKILL difficulty, making it more rewarding
Failure XP payout reduced slighlty
Special enemies will now be marked when seeing them through security cameras
You can now mark special enemies when in bleedout
Fixed a bug where skills that reduces purchase cost did not reduce cost of buying Premium Contracts

Masks
All masks are now shown in your mask stash - now you know how many masks there currently are and which ones you have
Fixed a mask exploit where the player could abuse the mask system to gain money

Stealth
Major changes to the stealth system, balancing how much weapons, skills and armors affect your concealment
Fixed a bug for suspicion meter not decaying when same enemy has more than one suspicion object in sight
Decreased most SMG weapons and Assault Rifles concealability
Increased Pistol concealability except for the Deagle Pistol and Bronco .44 Revolver
It will no longer be possible to sneak right in front of enemies
Added a Detection Risk ring in the inventory instead of the Concealment bar
Fixed various issues with Suspicion and Detection related skills
Adjusted armor concealment values to make the first four armors more forgiving and the last three more punishing
Adjusted the weapon concealment values to be less punishing
Security cameras have been improved and will now detect you faster - GENSEC have been hard at work
Tweaked the detection values based on QA and community feedback

Law enforcement
Increased Sniper difficulty on OVERKILL so that they now deal massive damage
Tasers can now team up together with Shields
Law enforcers can now carry the Bronco .44 Revolver - go on, make their day
Fixed a crash regarding Sniper on the OVERKILL difficulty
Bulldozers can now throw smoke grenades - Oh my god
Bulldozers can now use the IZHMA 12G Shotgun - Sweet baby Jesus
Added new VO when law enforcers are suppressed

Armors have received a dodge value - the lighter you are, the higher chance you have of dodging bullets

Fixed a bug where throwing jewelry bags on top of street lights will cause progression to be stopped
Fixed a bug where the player and bag collision wouldn't work properly with the dump truck (this is also fixed on the Ukranian job)

Rats Day 2 - Fixed an issue where one of the money bag isn't secured when it spawn in the van

Nice to see the developers taking this game forwards. I hope to see more content.

This is definitely in my top 5 games of 2013.

It has that magic feel that Left for Dead 1 had when it first came out - full of action, a driving purpose to escape, and the tactics are superb. But most of all what impresses me are the guns. They feel just right, and getting an accuracy of over 50% is really satisfying.

With the Halloween event drawing to a close soon, I have to applaud Overkill for doing a great job. I just wish there were more hours in the day or they extended it as I would have loved to got all the achievements too.
 
Hey everyone,

After a fantastic weekend with trick or treatin' we were ready to pull the plug because a date's a date, right?

However, seeing how popular the event is and that so many weren't able to join in during the weekend because of other real-life stuff and what-not, we've decided to postpone the plug-pulling and let you guys enjoy it for a few days more. And yes, this means that the headless Bulldozers will continue to ravage the streets for a couple of days.

So, take the chance and continue stocking up those cool Halloween masks and patterns!

I bought the Armoured Transport DLC the other week in the sale, but im not getting this 2nd one until its in a sale too, i havent played it for a while as im not impressed with the elitism which seems to be dominating the direction of updates. I like playing on my own, or with a mate from time to time, and its just impossible when a gaggle of bulldozers come waddling along. I could play on easy, but im somewhere in the lv50-70 region (its been a while! mid-60s i think) and in terms of progress it'd be utterly pointless, it takes forever even on elite/overkill just to rank up 1, let alone the 5-8 or so needed for the next tier.

I dont object to it being made harder for people who play in a group, but its impossible when you're on your own with 2 AI who contribute nothing in terms of progressing through a level. They're meat shields with unlimited ammo, hide behind them and only shoot when you need to. The cant carry bags, they dont reset drills, drop ammo/health, they're a waste of space beyond the 'exploity' method above.

I think im correct in saying that the update gives grenades, and the DLC brings grenade resupply boxes? I can live with that, im not bothered about buying weapons, masks and patterns, i'd rather see new missions, although i havent even tried AT yet (waiting a while before going back). At least its not priced too harshly, 3.99 is reasonable, as is 4.99 for AT.

I like the game, i just wish that it wasnt inferior because im not playing with 3 others, and ive no interest in playing with randoms.
 
I would have purchased the DLC last night if the download was not terribly slow.

Think the best thing I will do is wait for a couple of DLCs that add new missions are released and either on sale or in a bundle. Then delete my character and start at the bottom again. Was fun leveling up intially and not having enough cash for everything. Only issue I see with this is getting booted from games for being low level but I prefer to host so it should be fine.


When AT I hosted with anyone and didn't try and grind out VH and OK missions. Was playing with players under lvl 30 and it was more fun helping them learn the mechanics and hiests.

The game is a lot of fun, IMO. But playing is solo is a very frustrating experience because while there is AI the game can only do 2 AI so instead of being 4ppl your down a man. They cant interact with anything, so you're expected to carry all the bags of loot on your own, you have to blow/drill the safes, and they dont have the droppable ammo/health bag to either resupply you or keep you alive. They're just unlimited ammo wielding n00bs who seem to be able to take 10x more damage (and im possibly understating it) before going down. Oh and they can revive you, shooting and reviving is essentially all they can do.

Play the same game with a couple of mates or 3, and its fantastic.
I quite like playing MP games against bots rather than other people, but the problem with PD2 is there are a lot of mechanics involved in completing a mission, and having to do every single thing on your own means everything takes considerably longer. If you want to escape with say 8 bags of loot, you have to transport each bag to the getaway. It's a piece of cake if theres 2-4ppl doing it, its a nightmare doing it on your own.

Its a real shame IMO. Its like the game needs a tactical menu, a bit like the old SWAT games had, where you'd tell the others in the unit what to do. Fix the drill, grab a bag and get to the van, cover this area etc. Instead all you have is 'follow me'. Even with a mate and 2 AI they can be infuriating because they're not really much use.
