Paypal... -.-

1/ Cancle cards and remove from Paypal
2/ Block phone (then e-mail the buyer and say it is blocked)
3/ Demand a new receipt from post office, explain the situation to a manager.

I advise ex pp and ebay members to read the Ebay stealth Ebook to get a new account. It's a lot of arsing about but if you depend on it like running a business, then it's worth it.

I had both ebay and pp chase me for years. loads of letters and phone calls to me. Never did a thing.

This is why I have never added a card to paypal/ebay. How they can keep doing business all these years with there policys is beyond me.

royal mail do electronic proof of delivery for these items don't they? surely they must be able to just print something out if paypal want to be ridiculous about it.

I would have blocked the phone the second he/she opend a dispute tbh
why wait in the eye's of the law he is saying it never got deliverd/stolen

Initiate small claims proceedings against buyer (£50ish)
Have records pulled from phone company about the phone
With any luck, court will ask him to explain why his number is using that imei. If he has sold it on, then I'm sure the second buyer will happily tell the court who sold him the phone.

I'm pretty sure you'd need to get the Police involved to get a phone company to hand any records like that over.

Small claims proceedings is a court process, not a paypal process.

*Edit - as in, you would ask the court to instruct the phone copmany to provide them. Also, IANAL, just to be clear

Not sure, but I imagine that even if the court were to make such an order, it would only be after a hearing which will take months.

Did you send the proof to Paypal by post originally then? If you sent it electronically/via email surely you still have the file saved on your computer or something?

Paypal found it in my favour.

Seems that if you follow the policy they have to the letter then you will come out ontop.

I was supprised to be fair. I had expected to loose the money.
