PC Build advice

Can you link me to the reivew you read that said that?

I recall two review i looked at;

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2014/06/24/intel-pentium-g3258-review/5

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/pentium-g3258-overclocking-performance,review-32974-17.html

It doesn't come close to the i7.

In gaming terms, its by no means a bad chip atall but the i7 is beyond that.

Think of it in car terms, The Pentium is a Punto, it gets you from A to B, Handles Motorways well, can go pretty fast and do everything you need it to do.

The 4790k is a Nissian GT-R, it does exactly the same things as the pentium, dirivng to work, listening to music. But then... You decide you want to go to a track day, or You go to Germany (AutoBahn) and you're so glad you chose the GT-R instead of the punto.

You see what i'm getting at?

The pentium or an i3 would be great/good for current day games at decent/high settings. But the i7 is 'Master of all'.
'Games on Ultra at 1080p?' - Yes please.
'Games on Ultra at 1440p?' - Yes please.
'Games on Ultra at 144hz?' - Yes please.
'Games on Ultra at 1440p at 144hz?' - (maybe) Yes please.
'Lets editing an Hours long video' - Yes please. :)

I may of understood the charts I don't know but they seem to me not far away

Honestly it's clearly marked in the price, the i7 is yards ahead. Games that will use more threads destroy the Pentium - single core performance is better, re-selling value will be higher. Better performance, rendering, recording, gaming, whatever. Tbh if I had a £2k budget I wouldn't even have a smidgen of a thought of getting a Pentium
Yes, the Pentium is a great budget chip, but for this budget i7 is the way to go.

Price doesn't indicate everything look at phones for example the Samsung Galaxy S5 £500 16GB (not checked just a guess) compared to the Oneplus One exactly same phone except call quality but it's £269 for 64GB version. I mean which one would you go for? (Bad example if you know nothing about phones lol)

My point is just because I have £2000 budget doesn't mean it has to be spent. So if in gaming terms only G3258 is almost as good but £200 cheaper I would go for this.

Anyway it's not out until 7/04/2014 I think anyway so I have time to think and ponder

Sorry if I sound annoyed or angry just making a point

Please advise on this above. I want it cheaper without doing the obvious like removing the two of things get rid of the cables the fans etc. If possible.

If you would rather rebuild it, i based it on the "Ultima Bullion" (search it its a pre built system) the only thing i want to keep is the Black and Gold Colour theme

I would consider anything basically change CPU, GPU, RAM etc as long as it says with the colour scheme of black and gold

The Bitfenix is a nice case but you might want to look at a case which has a slightly better front intake, I given two options below and optional PSU as 1200w is way over-kill.

YOUR BASKET
1 x SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 850W Fully Modular "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £99.95
1 x Corsair Obsidian 450D High Airflow Mid-Tower Case (CC-9011049-WW) £91.99
1 x Corsair Carbide 300R Mid Tower Windowed Case - Black (CC-9011017-WW) £69.95
Total : £276.89 (includes shipping : £12.50).

What PSU do I need power wise 850w 1000w?

Thanks for your suggestion the reason for BitFenix is the Gold that's on it so the case matches the colour scheme

Here is revised version of the one above is their anything I missed or compatibility issues etc? Thanks for you help so far people.

A questions about Hybrid HDD(SSD and HDD) how do they work do they show up as separate HDD or partions? Are they easy to sort/make work. Also if they are two separate HDD does this mean I require two SATA III 6gbps cables? And finally do I need a special HDD mount to fit them in a bay or they just fit into a 3.5?

(I know, well at least I think I know their are two separate HDD just two in one HDD case)

I also know ive missed a PSU out getting one of another website due to it not being for sale despite it being in the "Ultima Bullion"

Also (I know I said this already :)) open to suggestions :)
Thanks again

There certainly a few thing i'd change.

The Hybird HDD is pretty poor, if the price was sub £100 it may be worth it but the price of SSD and HDD these day, you can get better for less money.

The case isn't the best choice.

The Motherboard is Pre-DC so may not work with the CPU, not good.

The Orbweaver is expensive but i have another option for you if you really want something like it.

The black gold theme is achieveable.

On the fans you can either use the white rings or get some gold spray and spray them (as they fully remove it won't affect performance in any way, a lot of people have done it). :)

Thanks for this the reason for the case I selected is for the colour scheme gold trim. Why is the case I selected so bad?

Also the motherboard I selected you mentioned is pre Dc what does pre dc mean

I see the reaosn for the gold trim... Im not saying you should go with the Shinobi XL, as it does givve you the scheme you want but the 450D (and a few other cases) perform better and are much cheaper than the XL. Just something to consider but if you're 100% set on the gold trim, go for it.

Sorry, DC means Devils Canyon, The Z97 chipset was release specifically for Devils Canyon Chips, the 4690k and 4790k.. ect..

Thanks for explanation so what a the benefits of the Z97 chip set over the z87 chipset
