Hi, I have 3 devices that occupy my 5.25" external bays and would need at least the same space in a new case. I would also need either a Vertical PCIe Slot on the back of the case or a Full Tower case with plenty of PCIe slots, particularly a few between the motherboard and the power supply. It would need to accommodate a PCIe to PCI riser adapter card, either singular or dual depending on the case (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005064528742.html / https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004925369935.html)
A few I've found already:
Cons: conflict of dual front fan bracket and 5.25" bays space-wise; 5.25" & 3.5"/2.5" brackets all screw based, not very ergonomic.
Cons: No Power Supply Shroud for riser adapter card to rest on (may rest on PSU itself or may be suspended in midair); no or limited support for 2.5" SSDs; ebay sales lack rubber gromets.
A few I've found already:
Silverstone SETA D1 (https://www.silverstonetek.com/en/product/info/computer-chassis/SETA_D1/)
Pros: has 2x Vertical PCIe slots; 4x 5.25" bays; Power Supply Shroud for riser adapter card to rest on (could potentially block chip as well).Cons: conflict of dual front fan bracket and 5.25" bays space-wise; 5.25" & 3.5"/2.5" brackets all screw based, not very ergonomic.
Cooler Master CM 690II & III et al. (https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/legacy-products/cases/cm-690-ii-ver-2/ / https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/legacy-products/cases/cm-690-ii-advanced-usb3/ / https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/legacy-products/cases/cm-690-ii-plus-usb3/ / https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/legacy-products/cases/cm693/)
Pros: has 1x Vertical PCIe slots; 3 or 4x 5.25" bays; tool less design of 5.25" & 3.5/2.5" brackets; CM 690 II has hotswap bay on top.Cons: No Power Supply Shroud for riser adapter card to rest on (may rest on PSU itself or may be suspended in midair); no or limited support for 2.5" SSDs; ebay sales lack rubber gromets.
