Hi All,

I grew up playing Gran Turismo on PS 1/2/3 with a PS controller.

I'm now looking to play Project Cars on my pc and need a controller.

From what I understand the PC version of the XB360 controller is pretty much plug and play. I have a budget of £25 to get a controller. Would prefer the PS style.

Any suggestions, advice as to what to go for that *will* work with pCars?

Cheers.

The PS3 controller works, Google scp driver. If you have Bluetooth on your PC, also works wirelessly.

I used to use 360 controllers on my pc but switch to a dual shock 3 recently. I would likely switch to an xbone controller when the wireless dongle comes out.

Gioteck PS3 Wired user here, it's alright, played GT2 with emulator on my laptop, using x360ce (I think) it worked flawlessly on GRID (1st). Set me back about £20 iIrc.

Xbox 360 controller here but Xbox One is better, improved vibration and hopefully can be made wireless soon as Bornevil mentioned, so would go for that one.

Yep been using an Xbox360 controller for the last 5 years or so. Unfortunately after years of winding the cord around the controller it finally bit the dust and was replaced with an Xbox One controller about a week ago.

Both are brilliant and either would be highly reccomended by me. They both just work with everything.

The Xbox 360 or the Xbone controller both work the best with windows, however you can also use the DS3 or DS4 if you prefer those. With win10, you might have to fiddle around with the drivers a bit to get those two to work though.

xbox controller is generally best option on PC, even if playstation fan. loads of games are set up to be played on xbox controller so you dont have to spend ages counfiguring keybindings etc. which can get awkward on playstation controller.

Good point and some games like FIFA have button icons for Xbox which doesn't help :p

I already had a PS3 though so didn't see any need to buy another controller. But it might be worth getting an Xbox controller of you will use it regularly.

This, I use a DS3 and it works perfectly. Its a wrapper for an Xbox controller so buttons are mapped the same its just plug-and-play. MotionInJoy is an alternative as you can easily remap the buttons and works with a Sixaxis too, the downside is the drivers are buggy (BSOD). Use Better DS3 as a better GUI than the default one of MIJ.

I'm well used to a PS controller and I have one lying around unused so why shell out for another? Get a DS4 if you want OOTB backwards compatibility and the robust design they're legendary for. My Sixaxis recently failed and I've been using it for going on 10 years and it was 2nd hand when I bought it.

It should be out very soon, it was it's reputed to come out in the "Fall" but it will only be windows 10 compatible.

How very Microsoft.

how soon until the X1 wireless receiver is released?

I'd rather use DS4 but for a stress free life I'll get an X1.
