PC Game Pass (was Xbox Game Pass for PC)

I'm just starting Chapter 11 of Plague Tale: Requiem. I'm not sure I can be bothered finishing it.

Hugo is annoying the life out of me and the last chapter was tedious. Does it pick up in the latter half?

I got bored quite quickly of that game also. Nice graphics and all, but the rest was a bit meh.

I didn't manage to finish it. Got very near the end but my subscription ran out and I couldn't get back into it after I renewed.
 
If you don't own a game and your game pass runs out, when you click update it removes the game from your pc????

I thought I owned forza 8 and went to update it yesterday, turns out I never bought it anyway.

but like? serious? if I really wanted to play it then I would have to download like 90gb or whatever again...

how does that make sense.....

They recently made Tomb Raider Definitive Edition & Shadow Of The Tomb Raider both Play Anywhere titles which means if you ever owned or bought them on Xbox they have been added to your account so you can download on Game Pass play for PC now ;)

My membership ran out almost two years ago, and to be honest I don't miss it.

Looking at the selection that's on there now, I'm only interested in playing Age of Mythology, Payday 3 (which is leaving soon), Hellblade II, Jedi Survivor (which is also on EA Play), Turnip Boy Robs a Bank, Darktide, and maybe Starfield. I might resubscribe early next year for a month or two, as by then Flight Sim 2024, Stalker 2, Indiana Jones, and Avowed will be on there.
 
I got a load of 3 month gamepass codes totalling 3 years for free at a promotional event. I barely made use of it in that time. In the last year before it lapsed I did get to play and finish LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, HITMAN World of Assassination, Far Cry 6, Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Diablo IV.

Followed the steps in the link:

  • Starting from no active GamePass subscription. Mine expired yesterday.
  • Purchased 3 Years of Core, location India, from cheap site I'm not supposed to mention according to the pinned comment (it starts with a vowel not in my username ;) ). Used PayPal, didn't have issues.
  • Started 24hr free trial of CyberGhost VPN.
  • Set VPN to India and turned it on.
  • Redeemed codes on redeem dot Microsoft dot com.
  • Checked my subscription from my account page and confirmed I had 3 years of Core activated.
  • Switched off VPN.
  • Followed "Upgrade to Ultimate" promotion link at the top of my account page.
  • Took me to Xbox Store, where it gave me an offer of a 14-day Ultimate trial for $1.
  • The pop-up purchase window confirmed it would convert my 3 years of Core to 2 years of Ultimate, indicating a new expiration date.
  • Completed the Ultimate purchase.
  • My account page now shows an Ultimate subscription expiring 2 years and 14 days from now.

@cjgardens quoting myself from the console thread. I've just done it and worked fine, though weirdly I got 1yr 8 months instead of the expected 2 years but still around £200 saved over that period. I used ExpressVPN money back offer and I bought the 1 month GPU from CDKeys instead of Microsoft Store as it was £8.49 vs £14.99.

They've changed the conversion of core -> GPU. It used to be 3:2, so 3 years Core gave 2 years ultimate. It's now 2:1, so 3 years core gives 1y6months ultimate.

PSPlus has more than surpassed it now, which I wouldn’t have said way back when I got my XSX and gamepass. Couple of good games coming up on Gamepass, but hasn’t been anything worthwhile on there in ages for me.

TBF, I'm enjoying Palworld at the moment. So no doubt it'll probably leave GamePass soon. Got my eye on star trucker, but not played it yet, and void train when it hits. Might try StarCraft too as I've never played them.

But as a I agree it's not worth it for the money. If you could convert 3 years core like you used to to be able to it's a no brainer, but as they're decreasing the conversion and thus pushing up the price, it's not really attractive anymore. And it's "normal" price is stupid.
