I'm dreading the release of 2142. BF2 is a game I enjoy and I don't want it to be dropped by not only the gamers, but by EA

I'm with you. I took a few months off BF2 and recently came back, and I have noticed a pretty steep drop in server population.

I'm worried that BF2142 will make everyone else leave.

What about SPORE! anybody seen that game? i am gonna live at my pc for that!! if you have seen it, can you tell me if you think its worth upgrading my system for it? in fact, how long do you think until my system needs upgrading? cause i dont wanna buy into old technology ( i want vista ready and direct x 10 so want to hold out as long as possible!)

I completely agree with you, BF2142 does not look impressive at all, if anything it looks like a mod. Not only will I not buy it because of its obvious shortcomings in terms of originality, I'm not really interested in it anyway, since the "modern" setting of Battlefield 2 is probably my favourite for first-person shooters at the moment.

Unfortunately, I still think it will pull a good percentage of the Battlefield 2 population from the servers. It's bad enough as it is, IMO, as I literally see the same names on a daily basis on there.

Im looking forward to bf 2142 simply because im more of an objective player eg the titan mode looks to be awesome.
Ill proberly dabble in ET QW as well also looking forward to NWN 2 and crysis.
