For starters, make sure you've installed the Unofficial Community Patch 1.06, it fixes quite a few handling and game issues. There is also a lot of good info and downloads on the NoGripRacing website which will help with the setup of any controller.
It has the worst car handling model of any supposed sim'ish game. The cars all turn around a central axis and it makes them always feel they are steering with the rear wheels.
I have played about half hour but cannot get into it due to the stupid handling. The community patch helps a little but everything still feels rear wheel steer..

I should have been more clear: the deal was £6 for all of them, not £6 each.
Special edition has a few extra tools like auto unlockers that unlock computers without hacking, gives silenced sniper rigle from the start of the game (it usually available later) and double barrelled shotgun.
Imho if you can get it cheaper, get the "normal" version, thse additions are somwhat "cheater-ish"...
Unless you're talking about Deus Ex HR+DLC edition?
The only thing worth getting on top of the standard game is The Missing Link dlc. The weapons, items and mission aren't anything to shout about. But if you want the complete thing, the piece of mind wouldn't hurt and you could do a lot worse for your money.
Those are the explosive mission pack and tactical enhancement pack. The augmented edition is stuff like PDF of the artwork and developer diaries etc, fulllist of the Aug edition is on the steam page.
