Are those CD key stores legit, in that do they buy boxed items, scrap the disc and sell on the serial or do they buy just the keys?

They're more of a grey area, buying cheaper keys in Eastern territories and selling them on. Ive had scans of keys sent by them so presumably they just junk the physical stuff if there is any.

Very strange, it's worked for my friend too, you are not copying a space into the code field are you? Assuming you are copying it, try typing it in manually.
