I think you can avoid this if you provide them with a Canadian address rather than US.
Strange, I have Risen 2 (US Amazon) installed on Steam and my download region is UK London. Maybe its working fine because I created a separate Steam account for Amazon. For future downloads do you reckon its advisable changing the downloads to US?
Yeah I'll wait for the starter edition as well. Not having it available from the start is just plain good business sense, however.

Since this isn't a brand new IP from an unknown studio, the lack of availability of a demo at the start isn't going to hurt them. Who doesn't know what Diablo is all about?
