*** PC Gaming - Daily Deals Thread ***

I bought the Farcry complete pack. I have been meaning to play through FC1 again for a while and i will give FC2 a try (even with re-spawning enemies/checkpoints)

anyone know where i can get crysis 2 for cheap?

Origin India, ridiculously cheap if you buy games through VPN over in India as they are doing a sale!

Pre-order games available too, Fifa 13 pre order Rs999 ~£11!

Just spent a grand total of £33 for BF3 premium+ME3 Digital Deluxe+Spore Galactic Adventures!:D

Right VPN details please. So i can start pre-ordering. :D

I only know how to do it in firefox, but basically you...
go into tools>options>advanced>network>settings
Enter 119.226.108.30 port 8080
Tick "use the proxy server for all protocols"
Save.

Google Origin India and if it's worked, you should see the price of BF3 Premium as 1499Rs (rupees)

Read that page and a couple previous too, as there is good tips in it in general for security concerns etc.

Isn't there a good chance they will ban your account for doing this?

Not if you bought it on holiday!:D

I bought it this morning, just to cover my paranoia, I won't be logging into anything EA related until probably tomorrow night, I check out of the taj mahal in about 15 mins.;)

According to their CS... if you take a "holiday" to India and purchase while you are there - it's perfectly fine.

If you use a VPN, you risk getting your account banned.

... just tell them you went on holiday, lol! Or a friend/colleague in India bought it for you... etc

Hmm still not sure on the legality of it.

Think I'm going to stay risk averse on this one.

Nothing illegal about spending your money in a different country... heck... I just ordered a valve amp from a Chinese supplier instead of a UK supplier. It's exactly the same principal.

@BigChief,

EA didn't ban anyone for using VPN's to activate BF3 early, although I can't guarantee they won't give you the chop.

They just got 30 odd quid out of my pocket that they would never have seen either.

Just to be clear as well, DON'T purchase via the origin app through an Indian vpn, it has to be through the origin india web page!

To be fair that is comparing apples and pears a bit. I'm sure that Origins T&C's state somewhere that you cannot do exactly what people are suggesting to do.

I think activation is a slightly different matter, if you bought the game via the UK store then they have your money so probably not that bothered that you go on "holiday to India" in order to play it early :p

Will you not have to pay tax on that once it has been imported?

My concern would be that it is a form, albeit mild, of tax evasion. The UK price includes VAT etc etc, circumventing that by purchasing from abroad must breach something.

Reasonable point - I'm not sure about taxes on software though - if that's true, I've broken it quite a few times with purchases from all over the place.
