*** PC Gaming - Daily Deals Thread ***

This thread should remain and NO it shouldn't be stickied. The whole point of a daily deals thread is it gets updated when people find deals so either people are finding/discussing deals and thus it should be in the first few pages; or people aren't posting anything new in which case it will fall back a bit which is fine because there is nothing to see.

Stickies should be reserved for useful stuff that doesn't necessarily get updated on a regular basis (rules, lists of gamertags/servers etc)

Thread should remain. I've saved a good deal of money thanks to this thread and possibly would have missed out on Batman AC from Gamefly without this thread. As there are so many games sites for digital downloads alone having individual threads isn;t a good idea and you would get people suggesting a single thread for the deals!

+1

If they stickied this, they'd have to sticky other official threads like the screenshot, and game specific ones, to stop everybody complaining in my opinion.

It's just fine as it is, although we should probably have a separate one for the Steam sale in a few days, as usual.

But then where is the consistency?

This is where a subforum would make sense, like it or not.

"All deals go in here, apart from this, ooh, and this and these" :(

In which case we should just allow the single threads.

I have no problem with a consolidated thread, just that single threads should not be moved there.

Well other than the Steam sale, pretty much everyone does put deals stuff in here. Except AWPC, who deliberately makes a separate thread for any GFWL stuff.

Lets face it, the Steam sale is a special exception.

Edit - and a quick RTM gets those separate threads put in here anyway. And also annoys AWPC, which is always a bonus ;)

I've no problems allowing single threads personally, though having a link posted to them in here doesn't seem a terrible idea (if anyone can be bothered).

lol and
Only when it's really important such as, oh I don't know, Fallout being free and then someone comes along and RTMs it. I wonder who that was :p
.

:D Antar loves making gog threads outside of the gog thread :D

Anyway I prefer things being in here, keeps it nice and clean! :)

It is ones with OCD who RTM who are causing the problems.

We could all get along if instead of clicking "RTM" they simply clicked "Quote" and copied/pasted into the daily deals thread :(

Well if someone for example posts in the gog thread or daily deals...

OH NEW GAME XXX AND IT'S FREE, PLAYED THIS AS A KID!!

Why should we then have someone posting a single thread instead of even checking the main one ( sometimes they do aswell ) with exactly the same OH NEW GAME XXX AND IT'S FREE!. I don't mind if people do that if the mods merge it with the main one that way people see that a new game is free and it's still kept in the main thread. Sometimes it smacks more of look at me i've made an important news post I really don't want it in the main one cause people won't notice it. Some go as far as adding in that little bit more information later on so the mods will keep it open, even if the old post was good enough ( this has happened )

To be fair Neil, you could probably make a case for not having quite so many indie game threads given that there is a central thread for all of them (which is even currently stickied).

I'm not saying that I believe you should stop posting the indie threads but just that I'm sure you can see that the argument cuts both ways. Personally I quite like having everything in one location but I also like seeing things in thread titles now and again as I don't really bother reading this thread every day.

I only do it with AWPC to be fair, and that's because he comes out with some spectacular bull about how great GFWL is, and how rubbish Steam is, and how all the issues with GFWL are dumb users. If he were any more obvious he'd have a flashing sign on his forehead, you have to fight that sort of thing :)
