In the case of the current bundle from Deep Silver, you get the following;

Does Grid work on Win 7

Yes.

If your graphic card has more than 1GB RAM, you might need to edit an ini file to enable the full range of resolution. I can't remember the exact file (it's just one line to change in a text file), but I'm sure google knows, if you need it.

Personally I'd rather pay 4 quid on a site I know and trust, than go to a site in Brazil to save a tiny amount and which could potentially cause issues in the future.
