*** PC Gaming - Daily Deals Thread ***

It's a sham, you get about 1/3 of the DLC in the season pass.

Well it is called a season pass, not a "Get all future DLC included forever" pass. As I understand it, they only went on to make further DLC beyond the scope of the season pass because there was demand for it.

Was just saying that few other companies would get away with the DLC business model that Gearbox have, and Gearbox have bummed their fans repeatedly over the last year or two so... what gives?

Anyone wanting the DLC should hold out for the GOTY to drop to £9.99 or below again, rather than buying the season pass. Don't think the SP even has the Dragon keep DLC either. Sadly though you won't get a second copy of Borderlands 2 when you buy the GOTY cause it's Valve.

£9.99 at GetGamesGo... for the moment, probably ending soon. :)

But yeah you're right on the business model, they pump out DLC constantly and the prices get a bit stupid. Civ 5 is bad for it also but not nearly as much as Borderlands.

I think that's mac only though mate?

Windows: http://www.getgamesgo.com/product/borderlands-2-goty £39.99.

Yeah, the season pass not having the new classes was the main fault IMO. The skins aren't great either tbh, yeah they're cool and well made, but in any other game buying an alt. skin for a character with real money is a microtransaction, they have no business in a AAA title. I think people don't seem to click on that the skins are microtransactions just because they are shipped as 'DLC'.

I know it's Steamworks, just wondering if you get the Windows version then? No point in buying it for a platform I never have nor will ever own. :p

Nah it's a two in one key, you get both versions when you add it to Steam and whichever OS you are using is the one you download at that time. If you change systems you'll get the other one automatically. I think it's the same for anything that is "Steamworks" but especially Steamplay. You can tell on the Steam store pages as it'll normally show the "STEAMPLAY" icon with a mac symbol and a PC symbol, and sometimes a Linux symbol.

Your basically buying it for your account, not your platform. whatever platform you use, is what version will be downloaded.
