I played ED solely via M&KB with no problems.
For that price, especially with new patches coming free this month to apparently improve gfx on planets, will be worth that price.
One major warning! The game is a grind fest, behind a gate of grind locking you from even entering some areas of space etc.
It does look good, but extremely shallow gameplay. Things like heading from one area of space to another in seconds, but then arriving & pointing your ship in one direction for a few minutes to half an hour or more whilst heading to some station.
Check a live stream, you'll get a better view.
