*** PC Gaming - Daily Deals Thread ***

Just a heads up for anyone looking at buying in this sale. Check to see if the price is the same on fanatical.com and use code LUNAR8 for an extra 8% off.

Excludes pre-orders, star deals or bundles.

EDIT or try GreenManGaming with the code WOOF18 for an extra 18% off.

Did you do it?

Things actually got slightly more complicated for me today....after a disagreement with my employer regarding what constitutes reasonable changes to my contract I'm on the verge of handing my notice in on Monday with no job to go to. Needless to say that four pounds fifty suddenly seems a lot more valuable in my pocket.

Hopefully since it's been this price I'll get another opportunity in the future once I know my life isn't about to crash down around my ears. Thanks all for the invaluable advice on this one though.

Genuinely sorry to hear this mate. I hope you get it sorted.

Gah Subnautica isnt on offer in the Steam sale :(. Really want to play it but i begrudge paying £20 when it was like £7 not long ago in early access. A game should go down in price not up...

I very much want it to, will wait for a discount.

Not sure I can see where you're coming from on price though. Early Access is a means of funding a game prior to completion, people are encouraged to support development by buying into an unfinished game at a discounted price. When the game is complete the price goes up to reflect this.

Only game I've done EA for is Rust (which coincidentally also just left) it's had quite a price hike, but damn is it great.

Nothing much in the sale is floating my boat!

Yeah i guess, it just seems a heavy price hike, but then hardly any games make it out of EA, so I haven't got a lot to base the release price on. I think i'm just annoyed at myself for not buying it sooner as I had no idea it was nearing the end of EA.

Yeah i think this sale is a bit poor as most of the 55 games in my wishlist have a small discount. Tempted by Deus Ex: Mankind divided for £5, although I still need to finish Human Revolution.

GOG Connect

I'm sure most of us will know about GOG Connect but for those who don't it is a feature that is made available whenever one of GOG's big sales is taking place. I've caught it for the last 3 sales and have been given over 100 of my Steam games on GOG for free, Now you may think whats the point? After all you already own them but they're free and they're DRM free, In the last sale I got given titles like Homeworld Remastered, Telltales The Walking Dead (all three seasons and the Michonne miniseries), Limbo, Inside, Homeworld Deserts of Kharak, 3 of the Deponia titles, Day or the Tentacle Remastered and many other decent modern games.
They seem to offer a different selection of titles in each sale and when you think about how many games they must be giving away I can't imagine they'll be able to keep this up indefinitely, The games offered this time around are not as good as those in the previous two but it's worth checking out and remembering to check what's on offer each time GOG has a big sale event on.

I honestly don't see the point. Whilst I like GOG and do make purchases from them, there is no doubt whatsoever that Steam is the superior platform as things stand.
