Planning to start playing Frostpunk tomorrow, looking forward to it. :)

And yeah not really interested in Fallout 76 however cheap it gets, I'd still have to invest time in it.

You will enjoy mate. Time will fly :)

These days I don’t just see a price tag, I see time and that is the more important consideration. We can only play so many games. That is why I don’t get too excited about Epics or Ubisofts free games. End of the day if it was something I really wanted to play, I would have done by now.

Could not agree more. I love bargains :D

If I am busy with other games, unless it is a must play game which goes to the top of the pile, then I just wait for the price to go down until I am done with them :)

I’m only one man, but if enough people vote with their wallets, things will change. The only reason loot boxes exist is because people buy them, same for content chopped out of a game and added as ‘DLC’, titles released unfinished, and £100 ‘ultimate’ editions. Same with the cost of RTX cards etc

Different studios tho surely.

Don't forget Ion Storm brought us Deus Ex and also Daikatana - but they were totally different studios.

I wonder how much of id Software still exists under Zenimax.

It might be that I'm running 21:9, but it's a default resolution. The game was known for being a crashy mess at launch, but updates and GPU drivers are meant to have resolved this.

Just to let you know I'm running this at 3440x1440P with a 1070 and it's flawless, runs superb.

I notice it has some AMD only settings, you haven't got those on (not that I know if they'd cause CTD's)?

Thanks for rubbing it in :p jokes aside I appreciate any input, I loved the first two and was so, so looking forward to playing this.

I turned of Async compute, which as I’m aware is the only ‘AMD’ setting. Any others?

Only one I can think of is deferred rendering, again, I wouldn't think that should CTD but what do I know!

I was only letting you know so you wouldn't blame the game, must be summat else :)
 
Crashes in the game were very severe on release, a lot of people’s were fixed with a game specific hotfix from both teams, but there’s still quite a few who can’t play it.

Tbh ive tried turning off as many settings off or down as possible, and changing every option I can think of. Unfortunately changing desktop settings often causes CTD too (another known issue). I’ve directly edited configs, made them read only, reinstalled countless times and tried many different driver revisions.

I don’t have any issues with any other game or program. I’m going to turn off g-sync, roll back my OCs and do a DDU and another driver reinstall next. As well as turning off as many background apps as possible. If that doesn’t fix it it’s refund time.
