PC gone mad, again!

so he got in all this **** cause he caused that welesh woman english? jesus christ that's mad, i've been mistaken as southern irish....could i have taken them up for that!

Yes we are, if anyone called me English then I take great insult to that, as they say you can call us sheep ***** but never EVER call us English.

Doesn't matter whether it insults you or not. It is only your skewed perspective and xenophobic approach to the English that causes it, not a difference in race.

For your information, I have english friends that I get on with no problem, what I do object to is being called something I'm not.

History shows that the whole of the UK was full of the celts, and it was the english who where a mix of races that tried to take over the whole island.

Your the xenophobic, just because I'm Welsh you decided to pick on me for what I say. Most Welsh people believe the same thing just most don't have the guts to say it.

You contested that you were not of the same race as an Englishman. This is wholly incorrect.

I do not deny this. Do you deny that the Welsh and other Celts have slowly integrated into the English and vice versa through cross-breeding? I myself am part Irish through grandparents, and if you go back many generations I imagine the 'English' from my heritage would be stock from mainland Europe.

I would say you would be of a similar background - if you specifically are not then your 'race' of Celts certainly are.

Your post reeks of xenophobia. You sound like a member of the master race.

I didn't 'pick on you' because you're Welsh. That is inconsequential to me as we're of the same race. I picked on you because you were wrong.

although i havent read the all of the thread i think i can safely say that so far the 21 century has been completely different to the 20th century, which seemed to be one of the golden ages of humanity (in my opinion) -apart from world war 1 ,world war 2, the cold war, a few genocides and other crimes against humanity- where people learnt slowly and sometimes through the sacifices of others that it was possible to cooperate with others and msitakes were expected. Back then a person would have just informed another person of their mistake, now they just kick up a huge fuss and blow everything out of porportion. it seems like the closer we approach the conditions needed for peaceful and tolerant society/world, the further the goalpost moves away form us.

You're right. Take all those out and it could have been regarded as a golden age of man.

Without those taken out though, more men were killed by men than in any other time in the entire history of the world. I'm not entirely sure I agree with your reasoning and can't believe someone actually posted that.

It takes a couple of world wars for people to realize how great peace time is. All we need is world war 3 and we should be a lot more friendly to oneanother.

well at the end of the century it was looking good and in terms of what humanity had achieved (especially scientifically and technologically) it was also a good century. it was just those events brought it down a bit, but those were events in which the governments and people knew their enemy and the people knew what could be expected and in my opinion, the lessons that those events taught us did not carry forward to this century. as now we're in a world where one little mistake to the wrong person could land you with a court hearing and lead to a criminal record.

Would you have had a problem being called english 50 years ago when Wales was part of England?
