READ EDIT: Has some key information and I will list it: The sound seemed to magically have decreased without doing anything or removing any processes. I want you guys to help me better cool my computer so I was thinking of getting a CPU heatsink called Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO (120mm).

Hey, my PC is extremely loud, I literally cannot hear anything apart from this very noisy PC. I just cleaned the PC and I have lowered the temperature by 10 degrees Celsius however the sound from before the cleaning is still being a annoyance. I was thinking of getting new fans however I am clueless and I have no idea what to do, here is the PC specs, just tell me what to do.

CPU: AMD FX-6350 3.9GHz 6-Core Processor
MOBO: Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
GPU: XFX HD 7970 DD Edition 3GB GDDR5 DVI HDMI Dual Mini DisplayPort PCI-E Graphics Card
PSU: Corsair CX 500W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
CASE: Zalman Z9 Midi Tower Case

I do not know where the source of this however I can assume its the fans and I want to upgrade them or whatever, I am clueless and have no idea on how to cool my computer, all I know is basic PC components and that's pretty much it. I was thinking of getting this

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO (120mm)

EDIT: Thanks for the help, PC is still loud and confused on what to do.

What case are you currently using?

One option is to check to see were the fans are plugged in and look at a fan speed controller which can fit in one of the drives bays.

Is it only noisy under load, or all the time?

Install SpeedFan: http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php

That will tell you the temperatures of the various components and also the speed that your fans are running at. It would be good to isolate the problem to either your case fans, GPU or CPU.

Here are the results for Speed Fan, I don't know what most of this stuff are however this may be useful. If you need a screenshot on every window then I can do it for you.

My case is Zalman Z9 Midi Tower Case, also I don't know what a fan speed controller is however I can link you a screen shot I made on Speedfan, also I want to mention that my PC has been more quieter however I think it is still best if I upgrade my cooling just in case.

just go into bios and turn them down, no?

I could but I am worried if my components may be damage if it doesn't receive much cooling. My PC has been more quieter since I posted this thread but I would like help with installing new fans and improve cooling just for the long run.

Bump: Read the edit at the end of the first post. My PC seemed to go quieter however for some reason afte a while it's loud as usual. My AI Suite told me that the CPU temperature has raised to 65 degrees Celsius.

I've also noticed that the CPU fan was the source of the loud noise. As I mentioned above the AI Suite notified me that the CPU Temperature has risen over 75 degrees Celsius.

Right, on the CPU do you have the AMD stock cooler? This'll be the first port of call, they are traditionally hailed as being loud and fairly inefficient. Something like the Raijintek Aidos or Themis or similar (you mentioned the 212 Evo) will hopefully help to alleviate the problem

Secondly, could you take some pics of your case fans so we can see if they are 3-pin or 4-pin connections to the motherboard or just molex fans that run on 12V constantly? Or tell us the name of the case/fans?

Before buying the CPU cooler also, make sure it does fit into your case by checking the height listed on the CPU cooler and the max height listed on the website of your case or similar :)

What case? What case fans? Have you fitted the new heatsink properly?

75C is far too high. The motherboard can control the fans if PWM type. Let us know.

I added the case to the thread, just in case it's here, Zalman Z9 Midi Tower Case.

Shivy011, the name of the case is Zalman Z9 Midi Tower Case, the CPU heatsink is the one that came with the core itself, which I assume is the AMD Stock Cooler.

I am not experienced with cooling and stuff however the case name will probably give you an idea. Also, just in case, I have used this PC without any problems for the past one year. I never upgraded anything inside the PC until now where I am thinking of getting a new heatsink.

Here are the links to the images you requested, the images showcase each fan whilst the PC is off, I don't know what molex is or the 3 pin connection, etc. however these could help solving the problems.

nkata, case is Zalman Z9 Midi Tower Case, don't know the case fans but the case name will most likely solve the question. I did set up the heatsink properly. I think the fans are PWM type but let me know how I can check it.

Edit: I am going to wait for about 10 minutes and then take screenshots, my antivirus is just being slow and needs some time.
Edit 2: I uploaded the images of each fan, I also cleaned everything for about an hour and taking the pictures. I hope this helps, also I heard a decrease of volume but I don't think you should trust this since I just turned it on and after an hour I will tell you the noise level.

Well, you're right, that's the AMD stock cooler. Swap that out with one of these;

YOUR BASKET
1 x BeQuiet! Pure Rock Cpu Cooler - 120mm £28.99
1 x Alpenföhn Brocken ECO CPU Cooler - 120 mm £24.95
1 x Raijintek Aidos Direct Contact CPU Cooler - Black £14.99
Total : £79.43 (includes shipping : £8.75).

The case you have has no listed CPU cooler height :( But someone on the forum said anything under 160mm will fit, these are all sub 160mm so you'll be fine

Those fans look like the stock case one's, so are molex I assume? The connections are straight into the PSU and look like this?

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1e/Molex_male_connector.jpg

The stock one's you have probably won't be high quality one's, perhaps someone can suggest some quiet fans? I'm not really up to speed on those right now

My PC has been very silent lately, I think it's due to cleaning the stock cooler, also Shivy011, the case fans are connected to something like this http://imgur.com/a/af8jJ.
The image is not mine but I found it on google, however it is connected to one of those. They are connect straight to the PSU. I am thinking of getting the BeQuiet thing cooler, I forgot the name. I don't know much about cooling but will this fit on my CPU? If yes then I will order it :) Thanks!

EDIT: The reviews say that the cooler is good however I don't know how I should mount this gigantic thing onto my CPU and how I am supposed to assemble these together. Do all stock fans come with this and is it compatible with my CPU/Case?

Woops, sorry about that I accidently linked my album that I used earlier in the thread. Here is the image I was meant to show you. http://i.imgur.com/EXJvd.jpg

Edit: Does the manual inside the box show how to assemble the cooler because I've never tried this before and also will I have to repaste the cpu? I am not too confident with repasting things so yeah.

Is it ok if I just get a CPU cooler, I think my stock fans are quite ok and will get some in the future if I need any. So currently all I need is the beQuiet cpu cooler and then I just need to assemble it and mount it on the cpu?

Update, the PC has been extremely quiet, I don't think I will be getting the bequiet cpu cooler any time soon. The problem was just that the CPU wasn't clean and was infested with dust. After I removed the dust, I haven't heard a single thing or no errors on high CPU temperatures. In the next 4 months I might order a CPU cooler however currently I don't need it. Thanks guys, I will close the thread now!
