PC Laggy after upgrade

You do know that 'mobile' games played with browsers can be huge memory leaks/sinks, right? (especially if played for long periods, regardless of what their memory usage appears to be)
yea im not just getting it with mobile games now, like atm I just have chrome open (2 tabs), just browsing and I can feel it going laggy

Ok....
i ran latencyMon and it had about 15000 Pagefault counts after 6mins of running...

so I found a registry fix to disable windows defender and stopped any auto scans etc...
i also found the suggestion of disabling whichever network device I don't use, I'm normally cabled into the router but I thought id disable that device and go wireless to try this.

i now only have just over 800 pagefaults counts in 11mins, System doesn't feel as laggy (so Far)...

il see how this goes and update accordingly...
***EDIT*** after restarting my PC the numbers went higher than before, 40000 in 10mins of logging :( computer back to being laggy.... I'm about ready to just throw this in the bin tbh :(

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Right....... i think i have sorted it now... (famous last words i guess)

i stripped all the pc down, cleaned everything, and rebuilt it....

while rebuilding it i noticed my motherboard had an 8 pin & a 4 pin CPU connection, i had only got the 8-pin connection in (the manual says to use either 8pin or 8pin and 4pin, also i only used 1 x 8pin before the upgrade), i remember when putting in the new PSU that it only came with 2 x 8pin modules so i decided to only use the 8pin without the 4pin, i ordered a 4pin cable and connected that and the computer at the moment, feels nice and responsive...

after all this messaging about it i think it was just because i had no 4pin connector connected..... I feel rather stupid right now, but i do hope this is the reason and it stays working as it currently is

Some sites give a lot of lag with me with chrome but the same sites on firefox do not, ive had the same page in Chrome use up 80% of my CPU but on firefox under 5%, if you get slow downs again check CPU usage whilst you are on the tab for the game you are playing.
Yea i have recently started using Firefox over chrome for this reason, chrome has like 15 instances open for 1 tab, its crazy

I found my PC (same processor as you) is laggy and not that snappy any more, since I upgraded from Windows 10 Pro to Windows 11 Pro.
ive been thinknig abou going back to windows 10, I was on windows 11 before the upgrade tho and it worked fine :( ive noticed now i get a crackling sound in my speaker followed by 1/2 secs of lag and then the computer starts to run sluggish.

i run latenacymon and it shows a sound card driver or files as the issue but i can not for the life of me get rid of that error :(
