So, I built my new gaming PC a week ago, and I'm experiencing some problems. When I turn the system on, it will go through POST, and then go to the 'Starting Windows' screen. But then, it just won't to anything, and the screen just goes into standby as it can't find an input.
NOTE: this doesn't always happen. Sometimes, the system starts up fine, and it seems as nothing is wrong.
Anyway, if the system fails to start, I have to turn the PC off by the power button, and when I turn it back on, it prompts me with "Windows failed to start" and then asks me if I want to run 'Startup Repair' or 'Start Windows Normally'. If I choose 'Start Windows Normally' the computer will start up fine (or it has everytime I have tried it). If I choose 'Startup Repair', the system will ask me to restore to a system restore point. I do this, and it seems as everything is fine.
But then, it does it again. I try the same thing, restoring to a system restore point, but it doesn't seem to help.
Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix this? Because I'm getting kind of desperate and thinking about reinstalling Windows.
Thanks, Will.
