pc randomly powers off

Can't be updates as windows is completely up to date. Im pretty sure theres no loose wires itsbeen working fine since I built it :c just took my overclock off.. it hasnt restarted yet...

Check the event viewer. Did it bring up any 'windows has recovered from serious error blah blah ' message at the desktop when it restarted?

I'll give it a go. Currently the profile I was using was at 1.25V 4.5Ghz (been using it for a few months) reckon if I have to up the vcore would it need to be a lot? my comp is currently in my kitchen so my temps are about 10C more than usual. :/

Hm I can't wait to get this grand... going to take my CPU IHS off and put better time on. my chip is ridiculusly hot even for IB standards... and get my custom loop going once I pick a rad and find a EK spin res.

What are the temps your getting?

You must have read the thread were one of the user removed the IHS and used different TIM :D

Yeah I did ahah. Well under normal circumstances at 4.5Ghz with my K2 maxed out I'm usually hitting 90C (litteraly just breaking 90C or mid 90s) when most others at my speed/vcore are usually just on 80ish if not a bit lower.

As posted already check for loose wires especially if your using any extenders. I had a similar prob a while ago - the problem turned out to be a pin in my main board extension cable had pushed out when connected to the psu cable - it still made contact but only just. When the PC got warm it would expand and obviously break contact and randomly shut off the pc (no errors in windows or Bluescreens).
