5700 (non-xt) is about 25-30% faster than the 1660 super
1660 super is £200
if price/performance is to be kept the same...then 5700 should be £250-260
but the cheapest is £300 - and that's with an awful cooler that i wouldn't even recommend my enemies to buy
the cheapest aftermarket cooled 5700 after that is £350...by which time this is within spitting distance of the 5700xt

I am going to throw a spanner in the works and say change the case as well. One of my reasons is that case uses the psu as a exhaust which is a bad idea and will lead to the psu trying to cool itself with already warmed air. This will lead to a higher fan speed and more noise and has the potential to shorten the psu's life. Another reason is that the gpu's being mentioned are going to dump a lot of hot air into the case which a 80mm or 92mm fan isn't going to shift much of so again will be on the psu to shift it. That case could end up as a hot box and lead to thermal throttling. You don't have to spend a fortune to get a decent looking case with very good cooling options and the psu in the bottom where it belongs. The Zalman S2 for example is only £32 and will take 3x 120mm fans in the front, 2x 120mm fans in the roof and another 120mm fan in the rear.

I really don't believe that the hardware recommended would lead to that case becoming a hot box, neither the 3600 or the 1660S generate a lot of heat. Furthermore, they don't use a lot of energy either, they'd run on a 400W PSU just fine let alone the recommended 500-550w units earlier in the thread, so hardly pushing their power supply. I know where you're coming from but in this specific scenario I'd say it's an exaggerated potential problem. With a good intake (which he already has) and the exhaust fan recommended by @tamzzy I simply don't believe there will be any problems whatsoever with the setup the OP intends to use.

3600 = 80w
1660s = 140w
other parts = max 40w

worst case scenario = 260w thermal output
should be manageable with that coolermaster case with 1x 120mm intake and 1x 92mm exhaust

I just wanted to follow up on this. I've finally completed the build. I ended up going for the Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16gb 3200Mhz just for the disco effect, went for the RM750X PSU and Gigabyte 1660 SUPER OC edition.

What do you think?
