PC vs the consoles

Worms everywhere...

Pros

Games more customisable (mods etc)
Mouse more accurate for shooters
Graphics can be much better
Games can be had cheaper than console

Cons

Can be much more expensive
Not so 'friend friendly' (ie not many pc games are multiplayer on a single machine)

pc's are superior at playing games to a console, despite this, console gaming is more popular, game houses are far more numerous for the consoles, hence why you get so many exclusives, where the PC will rarely see one that isn't WOW or something similar lol

Another factor being that consoles are owned by single companies prepared to throw money at devs to make their games exclusive. The PC doesnt have that because of the multitude of hardware developers there is no one company pushing the PC as a gaming platform the way Sony and MS do for their consoles.
Microsoft seemed to be having a fairly half arsed go with GFWL but the less said about that the better.

woot good, typically you'll have to spend a fair bit if you want to game at decent settings on a nice resolution but i think it's worth it over a console any day
i sold my ps3 3 weeks ago too

there is no ' should ' lol you have to find a balance between your hardware, and personal preferences

someone spec'd me one eairlier, cant remember but i think it was a 24" for about the 200 mark. cant double check at the mo as i'm working.

1920x1080 then, which your 460 card should handle fine in most games.

That will be 1080p or a pc res close to that.

Just so you know though, i think you are mad for ditching a ps3 and xbox 360 and then spending more money on a pc. Seems very un-economical, but hey, it's your money. IMO pc's are way better for fps games, but for everything else xbox is just as good, although sometimes you can get better gfx on pc. I'm not including MMO's because also imo they are not games, as games are supposed to be fun

indeed one thing the consoles will never have ching ching, 10 awesome games for less then the retail of 1 console game, hell yeah!, just make sure you got enough storage and fast internetz

yes, games will have more detail in them, lots more, graphics are miles better on pc, console graphics are roughly 3-4 generations old now, ( think about Geforce 7900gtx)

also, spend nice money on a top end monitor, say a 30" from dell or HP and 1080p? pffffft 2560x1440, proper HD gaming
no console or tv supports that
