Hi everyone, just got a new case for my PC, have moved everything over to it, and now when I hit the power button, nothing.

The LED on my ASUS motherboard lights up though, and I've tested the PSU using the paperclip and it started up fine and powered a fan.

I was being really careful to ground myself but I don't know what else I could have done. Nothing has changed and the PC was working fine before.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

erm, you know the front connectors,. you sure their all in the right places? look at your motherboard manual to be sure which connectors need to go where.

remembered the 4/8 pin? switch on the back of the psu?

just trying to get rid of some common issues.

Still got ur old case? Try the power switch from that if it reachs, just incase the switch is bust.

try shorting the power pins to see if the power button has decided to break

edit: dont most asus boards have power/reset buttons mounted on the board as well?

do wot input suggested, if you still have your old case, just plug in the power button pin bit to see if it starts up like that.

what motherboard is it? must be very old to not have them.

im thinking maybe you forgot a connector somewhere, or a cable isnt pushed in correctly or you psu has got damaged?

even if your motherboard was damaged it would'nt make it completely not work, i.e your fans would start up your motherboard just probably wouldnt post.

have you looked in the manual for the front pin connector positions? and turned them both ways etc.

pitty you dont have a power button on your motherboard.

is your power supply cable in correctly?

when you moved everything over did you take your heatsink off your processor?

I've tried both positions for the connector

I've unplugged and plugged back in the supply supply cable

and I didn't take the heatsink off

very strange, even thoughts its pointless to tell you now, i always where nurses gloves when im building computer, as once my friend shorted his computer and i dont liket aking chances on things that cost loads.

looking at your poctures everything looks right.

only thing i can suggest is try a different psu, i know how troublesome that can be cause most ppl dont have spare ones.

hopefully someone with more knowledge can help.
