PC WON'T START!! HELP NEEDED!!!!

How would I go about shorting the pins? And I've tested the power supply by using a paper clip and connecting a fan, does that show it is working fine?

Yes.

Swap that red and white wire of the front panel power switch around?

Edit: On the picture it looks like they're soldered together or something? Did you lose the asus quick connector adaptor for the front panel connectors?

Not looking good, some how the motherboard isn't receiving power. So either your connections are loose, or something is wrong with your power supply or connection to the mains.

Time to take the mobo out the case I think.

Right I took out the motherboard, and connected the power switch and it switched on!!!! I didnt have a gpu or hdd connected but the CPU fan started up!!

I've just noticed something, the case came with these "Motherboard stands" that you put into the mounting holes, then put the motherboard on them and then screw it in. I just put the motherboard directly on the case, that might have caused it to short circuit in some way??!

Yup, that'll be it, you need the stands in there to prevent it shorting :] Fit those and itll be fine. I recently fitted a mobo and left 2 or so out thinking it was unnecessary, wouldn't start, put the other 2 in, pow.

Yeah, the video card PCIE wasn't plugged in right!!

Thats it finally working now, thanks for everyone's help! In the end it was just me being silly and careless!!! :\

I've done that before, a lesson learnt and thankfully it didn't break anything, so you one lucky bunny.

It is quite easy to leave a plug loose or something and you instantly go into a state of panic haha. I did a case swap recently and had exact same issue. Enjoy the new case!
