For the life of me, I fail to understand how these stores have droves upon droves of sheep (people) actually buying stuff.

So just on the off chance they had a item I was after, so as usual popped into take a look at one as next door to the petrol station, we all know the drill i guess, take a good look at one in store then buy it from somewhere else that is always £20 - 30 cheaper.....

Fair enough, i like that will order it online when i got back home or so i thought... checked the POS label £40... this cant be correct i said to myself... check online at other stores cheapest place i could find £149.99...

I am having that (all morals from buying this store now out of the window) take it to the grumpy till woman who rings it through up pops 169.99... OOO i say that is not what it says on the label.. well its £40 she then argues saying its the till price, until i tell her again not on the label. Off she pops trying to find comes back with the label in hand and wizzo £40 scowls at me either for getting a bargain or because i made her walk 40 steps. Calls the just as bored supervisor over and incorrect labelled POS and rings it through at £40 BARGAIN :)

Also seriously how many types of the them of the pod thing coffee machines just the western world actually need ?

Sounds like a good deal :P

Always amazes me how many staff they have in Currys PC World, can't look at a single aisle without being asked "Can I help you with anything?".

I went into the Curry's / PC world in Stratford Westfield (london) a week or so before christmas, intent on looking for a new hard drive

the largest external they had was 3TB, the largest internal was 2TB... i walked out in disgust lol

maybe if i'd found a good deal i would shop there more... but as it is their pathetic selection of hardware just makes me roll my eyes when i walk past

Cool story bro. Come back when you can write it in a coherent manner.

Shops are not obligated to sell you anything, the label is an “invitation to treat” not a binding contract. They could have refused to sell it to you.

I find like most bricks and mortar shops very occasionally they will genuinely be the cheapest place for an item.

Once my parents generation are all but memories I can see all these types of shops suffering even more than they do currently. Don't get me wrong I've convinced my mother over the year to shop online, but she (along with my dad) still like to view things first and then seem to have some inbuilt obligation programmed into them to buy the item from the shop they saw it at.

I have bought a few things from them but I get 8% discount from work purchase, couple that with any sale and quidco it sometimes makes sense

So you're pleased because you made someone's day unpleasant and ripped off a shop by being annoying about it until they ate they loss to get rid of you. If I had stooped to that level, which I wouldn't do, I certainly wouldn't then post about it as if I'd done something good.

To be honest I struggle to feel bad for them losing out on some cash considering the absolute rubbish they come out with to pressure sell extras when the unwitting general public walk in there.

But it's cool to come on to the internet and tell made up stories and bad mouth the likes of these stores to big yourself up :p

Surprised they did that as they are under no obligation to sell it to you at that price.

I've bought a few items from them at incorrect prices. Mechanical keyboard for £20 (£125 online), a 32" telly for £180 (back when they were £400+) and a few other bits. Their service, product knowledge and lack of competence has been astonishingly bad every single time hence why I refuse to go there any more.

Am I the only one who has no idea what the OP is on about? I can barely translate the "language" that it is written in. Just able to work out that they got an incorrectly labelled item for cheaper than it should have been and this somehow lead to them being some kind of God like being within the store?

Is there anymore to it than that? Did he get petrol from next door and set the place on fire? Did he make himself a coffee whilst there?

I am confused.
